We stayed in here whilst travelling from Calgary to Vancouver and really enjoyed the homely feel of the hotel and the town. The hotel was clean and felt like we were in the mountains - definitely worth a visit! more

Close to town easy walking to all the shops and restaurants. I was not impressed with this hotel. The rooms had terrible lighting, especially in the bathroom. Big room, but the furnishings were minumal. No where to place your luggage - except the floor. Tiny table in the room - no place to do any work. The ceilings were low... more

Just back from a fantastic week in Banff staying at the Ptarmigan Inn. The service and facilities at the hotel were much better than Irwin's Mountain Inn where i stayed earlier in the year (however the price was similar). The Ptarmigan has a great location, close to all the shops, bars and restaurants on Banff Ave. The staff were all... more

Booked this hotel instead of our usual because they were renovating and didn't have their whirl pool open. We'll they didn't tell us when we booked but this hotels whirl pool was closed too! It was more expensive and isn't any nicer. more

Great location. Far enough from the refreshing project on Banff Ave to not be affected in anyway. Limited underground parking. But hotel was full so parking wasn't a problem. Staff very helpful and friendly. If you are traveling in the summer upgrade to a superior room. The interior rooms have no outdoor windows and we heard the rooms were stuffy.... more

A lovely hotel in an ideal location. But it let itself down because of the heating. We stayed at the end of September when it wasn't particularly warm (we had snow!) but it was like a sauna inside the bedrooms. Although we had booked a room which opened to the outside (my mother in law had one of the internal... more

Our entire experience at the Banff Ptarmigan Inn was flawless. Starting with the very courteous, friendly and helpful front desk and housekeeping staff, right on to the premium double room where we stayed. No A/C, however during our stay we didn't need it. It was very cool in Banff during the third week of August, and simply opening the screen... more
