I was a little hesitant at first to try their breakfast. I am so glad I did. Probably one of the best meals while visiting Banff. They had a friendly staff and it was in close proximity to everything. Safeway was around the corner so that helped with the basics, such as water. Of course just going to Banff in... More

We booked a split room for 4 of us during Easter weekend. The room was small, but that would have been OK if the rest of the experience had been good. It was so hot in the room, and the thermostat had already been turned all the way down. There were not enough towels and other amenities in the room... More

We chose this hotel for a skiing vacation because it advertises as 'locally owned and operated', because it offered 'free internet', and 'free hot breakfast'. We were disappointed in all three areas. 1)All staff we encountered in the hotel are from Australia, and while there's nothing wrong with friendly and enthusiastic 20-something year old Australian staff, they were mostly brand... My wife and I are frequent visitors to Banff, as it is only an hours drive away, but this is the first time we've stayed here. It is a very nice place, close to town and has underground parking available. However, BE AWARE!!! next to this hotel there is a major construction project and whilst it didn't disturb our stay... The reception, bar and restaurant staff are all amazing, such a fun and helpful group. The management staff are less helpful. Rooms are very comfortable and the food is good. If you're hoping to use the Internet whilst at the hotel then choose your room carefully as some rooms it's excellent but unfortunately in the room I was in it... More

Our stay in Banff was fabulous. The hotel staff are amazing!!!! Cant say enough about how nice everyone was. My only complaint (if you can call it that) was wifi was very weak or non-existent in the rooms. The lobby it worked fine 90% of the time. So if you have work to do, it makes it a bit difficult,... While not the newest hotel, it's a great value. Free hot breakfast, decent wi-fi, great steam room and hot tubs, and comfortable beds. We have stayed here before and it's consistently a good choice for snowshoeing/hiking weekends.

I really liked this hotel near to everything in fact only a few minutes away from everything. The staff were really friendly and a super easy check in. The room was great plenty of space to move around. I'd definitely recommend and I'd stay at the Ptarmigan Inn again

We stayed for a weekend at this hotel during a ski trip to Sunshine. Overall, it was one of the poorest hotels I have stayed in. See below for more info: Rooms and other accommodations: Very poor. The upholstery and furniture are dated and damaged. In some cases they were stained or absent (bathroom counter had a gross stain on... More

This hotel has as "used up" feeling. The hotel needs upgrades and renovations. Every piece of furniture that I have seen was old and used up. Even in the room the furniture looked very worn with worn off finish. The two chair in my room were absolutely disgusting looking as is somebody urinated on the. I reported that the front... More
