Even though its a huge campground it didn't feel like it. Camped in C47 for 4 nights, the sites are plenty big for a car and 2 tents, semi private, some have views of the surrounding mountains. We were automatically charged for campfire permits when we reserved, since we didn't have an ax, we collected leftover pieces of wood that... More

We really enjoyed our time here. Conveniently located and really nice to have fire wood provided (and no fire ban!). Park staff were friendly and helpful. Beautiful scenery all around. The kids loved it. Only thing to keep in mind is if you arrive Friday afternoon it can take quite a while to check in (long line to get in)

This is a beautiful campground with large sites that are nicely spaced from other sites. Each has a fire circle, picnic table and plenty of room for your vehicle and tent. It is a large campground, and when I booked, I was afraid that it would feel crowded and be noisy. It was just the opposite... the campsite was quiet... More

Very clean washrooms, nice campsite, stayed in a tent. Enjoyed the beutiful view of mountains and the wild life right by our campsite. Very convenient, near to town. Would appreciate little more privacy, but overall a very good experience

We stayed in G55, nice pitch with fire pit and picnic bench. Looked out onto a wooden trail so a bit more private than some pitches. Good facilities - toilet block with 2 hot showers, and washing up facility nearby.

The pros are very affordable firewood...very close to Banff...less than 10 minutes...the cons the sites offer zero privacy. ....poorly treed.....barking dogs like crazy....and zero walking distance to any water like rivers. ...streams....Lakes. ..I would say drive 30 minutes further to Kananaskis for the breathtaking camping there...you may pay more...but the sites run along rivers...creeks and lakes...well worth the extra drive... We stayed here on our way cross-country for a move. We booked for one night at first, but after a quick trip into town, we asked for a couple extra nights and no regrets. The walk into town was decent but not too long, and the Transit goes to this campsite too which was very convenient. We had a walk-in... More

Nothing to fancy to rave about this place. There's only a plug and water faucet that is avalaible for each campsite. No privacy at all. Need to bring hammer as you will be using it to put your pegs. Very close to downtown though. Washrooms are clean

Spent 2 nights here in August and while there is nothing really wrong with this campground, there's nothing really noteworthy about it either. It's proximity to Banff is probably it's greatest asset, and the sites are well maintained and have enough trees that you can easily put up a tarp to deal with bad weather. Aside from that, the facilities... More

Stopped In Banff to look around during our summer road trip. The camp site was clean, close to Banff and all its activities. Space between sites was good but very little trees and undergrowth to give added privacy. The showers where hot with reasonable pressure. Will stop here again on our next trip.
