We were looking for an escape from the busy holidays. We got all we were looking for and more! It is a wilderness facility for sure but with all the amenities and comforts that you could use for a multiple day get away. The out door wood sauna is the best thing to have on a trip like this.

We chanced upon the hostel as we drove from Jasper to Banff. Ken, the manager, was very friendly and hospitable. He gave us a lot of suggestion on the non touristy place/hikes to go. It's a small cosy place with campfire pit just right outside your room. A well equipped kitchen but there's no shower room around. We did see... More

We stayed one night and were pleasantly surprised at every aspect of our visit. From Allan the friendly 'manager' to the excellently equipped kitchen and dining facilities, the clean 'everything', and the wonderful and interesting people we met. We were traveling with a well-behaved dog who was generally on a leash, not permitted in the buildings, and who got lots... More

This lovely place is surrounded by trees and mountains and many activities nearby. Ken was extremely helpful in pointing out the less touristy spots which promises breathtaking views. He definitely made out stay comfortable and provided a good atmosphere. 10/10 would come back again.

Beautiful place by a creek obviously. Made use of the sauna. The manager is friendly and takes pride in his hostel. Nice kitchen and lounge. They supply you with towels and sheets. Clean. Definitely would stay here again!

We're so happy to have stayed here. Not only is this surely the most affordable accommodation in Banff/Jasper national parks (an important factor for us), but it's just amazing unto itself. Great hostel experience. There's no outlets for you to use to charge things because they rely on a generator (no power grid), but don't worry, there are lights and... More

Located on the parkway between Jasper and Lake Louise, it is super convenient to access back country ski trails and ice climbs. It is a "wilderness" lodge, no showers are available but there is a hot house. Limited internet access and no mobile network. You can drive up to the lodge to unload your car. The place is heated, the... More

I was expecting little as I have never been to a wilderness hostel. I went with a bunch of friends and we ended up with our group in one cabin...definitely the way to go as I do not like sleeping with strangers. I like that there are only six bunks per cabin, lots of bedding available so everyone could have... More

Ken keeps this place perfect. Had an amazing sauna after an epic day climbing. Plenty of room to dry our gear and great facilities to keep us warm and happy. Out of the way so you don't get all the crowds this small local place in the middle of the Parkway is exceptional. Thanks a bunch Ken!

Only stayed for one night but it was really nice. Comfy beds and clean cabins. Well stocked kitchen. It was like a big family dinner. Everyone swapping stories and giving recommendations for hikes etc. Manager is really nice.
