The Buffalo Mountain Lodge is the best in Banff! My boyfriend and I went there for our anniversary and we loved it. This was our second year in a row going there. We have stayed at the Rimrock and like the Buffalo Mountain Lodge better. The rooms are beautiful. Most of the rooms are A-frames with huge log ceilings....the whole... More

This was such a pleasant surprise! The Lodge is perched above the town of Banff, off a beautiful but quiet drive. The room was very nice, and we loved the fact that it had a real fireplace and supplied the firewood. (note, some of the rooms do not come with fireplaces). The restaurant at the lodge has excellent food, both... More

This is a great place to stay while in Banff. The rooms are beautiful and clean and they decor is perfect for Banff: very cabin like and warm. The fireplace is beautiful! We always stay there when we go for the weekend. The main lodge is incredible with its huge fireplace in the lounge and the food is terrific in... More

We have stayed at several hotels in Banff over the years but could not find somewhere that was reasonably priced yet an enjoyable experience. We finally discovered it at the Buffalo Mountain Lodge. Prompted by a wonderful lunch at the Cilantro Restaurant at the hotel a few years ago, I decided to give the accommodations a try during our next... More

I just had my wedding here, and it could not have been a better place. Reception room was incredible, food was delicious. We got a lot of compliments on the perfect stake that was served. And the deserts were unforgettable. Our event coordinator at the hotel made it so easy for us. She was very attentive and took care of... More

I just returned from a wonderful trip to Alberta with my husband and another couple. I was the trip planner and was very careful when choosing our accomodations. I utilized this website for my decisions. My only disappointment was the Buffalo Lodge. On the plus side, the staff was pleasant, the grounds were nice and the rooms were clean and... More

We were slightly disappointed with this hotel, probably because the previous hotel had been so fabulous. Our room was on the ground floor and was rather small and dark in comparison to what I had been led to believe. In the winter it would have been lovely as it was small and cosy with a fire but in the summer... More

We had such a great dinner at Buffalo Mountain Lodge that we went back a couple nights later. They specialize in wild game and fish. The dishes we had were outstanding. I especially liked the caribou although my husband preferred the elk. We couldn't believe how quite such an exquisite restaurant was but that was fine with us. The service... More

We selected this hotel based upon a mistaken notion that this was actually a true Canadian Rocky Mountain lodge--a destination in itself. Make no mistake, it is a very nice hotel, with large rooms, excellent beds, and a nice large bath. In the final analysis, once we overcame our expectations of a lodge experience, we were reasonably well satisfied. However,... More

We stayed at the Buffalo Mountain Lodge for 3 nights in June 2006. It is just up the road from the main street in Banff, you will still need a car. The rooms are small, but very well appointed. The fireplace in the room is excellent. They set it up every night so you can just use a match to... More
