We stayed at the Buffalo Mountain Lodge for 3 nights in early July, 2006 and were a bit disappointed. The first thing that we noticed was that most of the buildings in the lodge looked nothing like the pictures which was a bit disappointing. We stayed in a deluxe room (not the premiere room) with no decent view. Also, when... More

I stayed in BML in March 2006 for 2 weeks with my boyfriend. When we first drove up to the lodge we couldn't believe how nice it was, it looked like a winter wonderland and was the best hotel we had driven past. We arrived quite late and were greeted by the very friendly staff who throughout the holiday were... More

My wife and I stayed here for one night on 7 June, as part of Jonview's fly drive package tour of Canada's western lodges and ranches. We therefore stayed in many lodges/ranches and this one was amongst the best. It is set in Tunnel Mountain Road, off the main Banff street, although this may not suit every one. We had... More

I read a lot of good reviews of Buffalo Mountain Lodge on here and it was also recommended in some guide books, and after doing quite a bit of research chose it because of its supposed quiet location outside of downtown Banff. I asked for a quiet room with views, neither of which we got. The "deluxe" (translation: basic) room... More

We stayed at the Buffalo Mountain Lodge from June 7th for three nights. We had a primer room and were very pleased with the fireplace. The staff made up a nice starter pile each day so it was easy to light and gets started. The room was very clean and the bathroom was very large with a slate floor, nice... More

I have only really just discovered Trip Advisor so my review is late (I stayed here August 2005). Here is my opinion of the BML, and I am a seasoned traveller and try to be fair. I look at overall package and I thought this was a nice place but I felt fairly indifferent at the end of the stay.... More

We stayed at the Buffalo Mountain Lodge from May 28 - May 30 and we really enjoyed it. The nice thing about the hotel is that it's up on Tunnel Mountain away from the Banff townsite, so it's very quiet and peaceful (I guess this could be considered a bad thing for people that like to be in the middle... This was a good hotel for the price in Banff. The room was very cozy (we booked a standard room, not the premium) and had its own fireplace and small patio. It was nicely furnished and decorated, and the bed was comfortable. It did back up to a larger road so was a bit noisy at night. It is about... More

We came to Banff for a ski vacation, and booked a room with a balcony for ten days. At check in the staff was friendly and shared lots of maps and information for the town and national park. We also arrived in Banff during the "situation" in which the whole town was under a "boil water" alert. BML was one... More

It seemed such a great idea to stay in an hotel where the rooms have wood fires in each room, but the combined effect is pungent in the extreme. Maybe it was just that there wasn't much wind on the day we arrived but it was very smoky indeed. The staff set up your fire ready to light every day,... More
