We stayed at the Buffalo Mountain Lodge over Christmas in a King Suite, pet friendly. I still think the rooms are in good shape, after years of use. Having a fireplace in the room is fantastic, the kitchen amenities were great to have. The decor is still 'mountain chic' - slate and stone. Beautiful quiet setting just outside the town.... More

We have stayed here twice now in the last six months, experience was the same as last time. The staff are too young and inexperienced to care about their jobs, a common experience among Banff staff (most are snowboarders from Australia!). Brunch was a buffet and I've had better service at the 7-Eleven. Why do these places think they're a... More

This CRMR property is in definite need of a physical upgrade and re-inspired staff. Just for point of reference I've stayed at several of the CRMR properties in Banff, Lake Louise and Field over a period of 15 years. I've come with a certain expectation of staying at the properties so my review will be a little harsh. The rooms... More

Stayed at the Buffalo Mountain Lodge Dec 20th, 2012. It sure was cold outside, -20c on average. We had two Premier Rooms. Very quiet location, rustic, traditional, nice rooms. Wood burrning fireplaces - different and traditional, but not very effective. As we knew the wood would not burn all night, we set the two thermostats to +23c. Woke up the... More

We stayed in one of the premium suites at the lodge over the Christmas holidays. We enjoyed everything about our stay and would recommend to anyone wanting a get-a-way in the mountains. The lodge and buildings built out of stone and timbers fit right into the picturesque surroundings and is located just a few minutes outside the town of Banff... More

1- The website shows vaulted ceiling suites, so that is what I expected. Instead, the "pine ceiling" was on the main floor and unimpressive. (?!) 2- When I asked about the noise of people walking above, the response was "just have a glass of wine and have the fire going and you should be fine". (?!) 3- The reservation was... More

We had a wonderful stay here for a weekend in December 2012. Our room was a second floor unit with heated floors and claw bathtub in the bathroom. The wood burning fireplace was gorgeous and very relaxing. There are big chairs in front of the fireplace to make very comfortable seating while you stare into the fire. The food was... More

Ive stayed here a few times. It's a beautiful view and the rooms are lovely. There are older and newer rooms. The older ones are still nice but smaller with a less fancy bathroom. They both have fireplaces. Keep in mind it's by right in the main area of banff, it'd be a long walk. If you don't have a... More

If you love the mountains then this is the place for you. With views of the Rockies on two sides and the Bow Valley on the other two, it;s breathtaking whichever direction you look. The cabins are fantastic with their own log fireplaces. The restaurant for dinner is brilliant...breakfast is more basic but adequate. The staff are friendly and helpful.... More

We prefer to stay at either of two locations when travelling to Banff. The Banff Springs offers spectacular views, exceptional service, great dining but a big hit to your wallet. Buffalo Mountain Lodge is cozy, intimate, rustic and off season rooms are very reasonable. There are not too many hotel rooms in the world that allow you to build your... More

Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay at Buffalo Mountain Lodge. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. We would like to apologize for your experience with breakfast in the Sleeping Buffalo Dining Room as that is certainly not the food and beverage standard we strive to provide. We hope to welcome you back again... More
