We stayed at BML as part of our anniversary trip to Banff & Jasper. We were generally quite pleased. The room was priced fairly for June (no great deals, but not peak season pricing, either). High marks for the service...everyone from front desk to restaurant staff was very courteous & took a little extra time with us to chit chat... more

Pros--nice location just outside of the downtown area, Premier upstairs room has a good view from the balcony, fireplace, bathrobe provided, wonderful bath products, firm bed. Cons--very dark room even on a sunny day, room walls a bit beat up, pedestal sink in a large bath so no counter space for make-up/tiletries, very slow service at breakfast, no offer of... more

Very cosy and romantic location. Clean room with very good and friendly service. A few minutes drive from town centre. The log fire was a necessity at night due to the cool temperature. This also added to the romantic setting. The bathroom was spacious and well stocked with toiletries. more

This hotel was a good deal for $150US per night. Our room was small, but clean. We loved the fireplace in the room and spent every evening in front of a lovely, romantic fire. We did not eat at the hotel, although there are two restaurants on site. They both both extremely pricey and seemed a little stuffy. I recommend... more

Loved the location of this lodge, although Mapquest got a few details wrong in finding the place. Things to watch for: Does not take Debit, only cash and credit; room was a decent size; beds are as hard as rocks, not comfortable at all; the shower did not flow well and ended up in a pool of water when showering.... more

My husband and I stayed here for the first week of our honeymoon and it was an incredible place with our open fire in the room and superb views of the surrounding mountains. Breakfast was substantial and we were able to upgrade our room only status to B+B on arrival. On the whole the staff were good, but when we... more

This was our third visit, but this time we booked a premier room. We liked the decor, fireplace, deep bath and bathrobes provided in these rooms as well as the view over the woods (rather than the road which some of the standard rooms overlook). Although there was some noise from surrounding rooms it did not disturb us unduly. Housekeeping... more

My husband and I spent one night in the Buffalo Mountain Lodge after having had a good experience at that hotel two years ago. Unfortunately, on our return visit, we left feeling disappointed. Like many of the other reviewers, we reserved well in advance and had requested a 2nd floor room with a view. Upon checking in we were provided... more

We are regulars at this hotel and we've never been disappointed. The premier room is the way to go, it has a claw tub, king sized bed and a large shower with heated floors, BONUS! The sheets are a little starchy but you can always bring your own mattress sheet.... The fireplace inside the room is a nice addition and... more

We just returned from our ten day honeymoon in Banff and spent all ten nights at the Buffallo Mountain Lodge (Premier room). We enjoyed every minute of staying in this hotel. The room itself was lovely, furnished in a modern, lodge fashion, with a log fire and balcony - the balcony looked onto a nearby wood where we saw many... more
