Beware: The Buffalo Mountain Lodge is now charging wear and tear on their furniture. No ethics for doing the right thing for the right reason. Extremely rude manager. Shame on you for charging $300.00 for a cracked wooden lid which was cracked when we got there. You put this tourist destination to shame! Brian & Evelyne

Loved the fireplace and that they provide fresh wood and kindling each day. It was no nice to go to sleep with a fire crackling close by. Also in the morning, to start a fire to take the chill off. The bed was comfortable and the pillows awesome. Staff was very nice, and the breakfasts we had each morning in... More

The hotel messed up the days of our stay and offered nothing to fix the mistake. We were coming for a weekend wedding and had to stay in Calgary as a result. The hotel was very rude on the phone and refused to apologize.

Banff is a beautiful town. This hotel is quaint. The lodge is beautiful. The food was very good. Our room smelled very strongly of smoke from the ( in) room fireplaces. We complained to the front desk & they happily changed our room. It's a rustic place but clean. Beds are comfortable. All in all it was OK. We did... More

Something of a let-down this one, we will advise our London booking agents on our return to London. Location is generally good but the town centre is a good (but quite interesting) 30 mins walk. The Front Desk staff were very poor, appeared to be under pressure, one in particular was abrupt and at times downright rude. None appeared to... More

My wife & I stayed here the second week of September as a base to hike in the area. We had a premier room on the second floor towards the rear of the property. The room was as advertised - wood burning fireplace, attractive decorations, two moderately comfortable chairs (lacking in many other lodges), a very large bathroom and a... More

I stayed here for a family wedding. The lodge is located near Tunnel Mountain and it was nice being away from the hustle and bustle of Banff Avenue. Rooms were spacious and featured a balcony overlooking a forest. Fireplace with wood supplied by the Lodge is a nice feature. Missed having a small fridge and a way to make tea... More

We stayed here a couple of weeks ago. Whilst the lodges themselves were nice and comfortable, we did have a couple of issues with the accommodation. As the door to our room opened out in the to courtyard and open area (rather than a corridor of a hotel), there was an additional security lock on the door which we locked... More

Absolutely loved our stay in Banff and Buffalo Mountain Lodge is the best place to stay if you want to be close to town but far enough. Hotel is about 3 mins drive from the centre of town. Our room had a view of Mt Rundle. The only let down was that we could hear every sound from the room... More

One of our favourite hotels in the world for the times when we have a bit more money and feel like splurging, is Buffalo Mountain Lodge. It's luxurious. Clean, cozy, romantic, quiet, peaceful and one of a kind. Each room has it's own fireplace and outside balcony or terrace. We have stayed on three separate occasions and found the fire... More
