Awesome lodge, impeccable service and staff, and some great hiking that made us very weary (which eased my guilt about our indulgence in the dining room)...what's not to love. While it's a short hop from Lake Louise, it felt like you were a time zone away completely removed from what is surely a tourist trap extraordinaire. We will stay here... more

Not enough superlatives available to describe our visit to the Rocky Mountains, and in particular this lodge. Our hosts in Canmore had recommended this spot as a good place to stop on our drive through the national parks. We orginially planned for a night and then to move on into Jasper, however after a great evening we opted to extend... more

Our room was lovely, comfortable and done out well, with a whole side made of glass looking out towards the mountains, and had the feel (to us Brits!) of a real log cabin. It was a good size with 2 chairs, a gas (fake log) fire (and even a real kettle!). That said, although we stayed in a Wapta King,... more

My husband and I made our reservations 5 months in advance and requested a quiet cabin away from others since it was for our honeymoon. We were SUPER excited to get to it after our stressful wedding planning. When we arrived, they booked us a room adjacent to another couple and we were really upset. We had specifically requested a... more

Cathedral Mountain Lodge was a beautiful lodge. The cabins, though close together, are lovely and cozy. We stayed in cabin number 5 located on the river. The view was mostly obscured by the beautiful trees but still nice. It had a wood burning fireplace, very comfortable couch, chair, unbelievably comfortable bed, and an awesome bathroom. It was cozy, clean, and... more

This was our second stay at the Cathedral Mountain Lodge and although not as enjoyable as the first, it was still a decent place for a few nights accommodation when exploring this stunning part of the world. The cabins are all well-appointed and cozy. Certainly not the biggest, but having stayed in other more basic units, there is no denying... more

Cathedral Mountain Lodge aims to be one of the trendiest cabin-style hotel in the Yoho-Lake louise area. The cabins and the main lodge are beautifully appointed and decorated and the staff are courteous and willing to help. This said, however, we found that this property had some serious drawbacks. To begin with, its location is bad. Some of the cabins... more

We didn't want to leave Cathedral Mountain. It was the most expensive accommodation during our honeymoon in the Rockies, but was worth the price. Our Wapta cabin was wonderfully furnished (lots of natural wood) and extremely comfortable. Breakfasts were a great start to the day, with a delicious selection of cereals, bread and pastries. We would agree with some reviewers... more

GOOD STUFF: excellent breakfast, charming cottages, and nice for couples; rooms off the road have more privacy. BAD STUFF: form over substance. More spent on how it looks than how it functions. Room too small. One very uncomfortable chair. No place to put luggage. Nice vaulted windows with no window coverings - so the sun got us in the morning... more

My husband and I spent the majority of our honeymoon at Cathedral Mountain Lodge, in one of their standard log cabins. We enjoyed our stay there; it was very relaxing, good time together, etc. Good points: The location was absolutely beautiful. Despite it raining every day we were there (we hear this is *not* typical June weather there), the scenery... more
