The building was impressive, and the gardens were attractive, but it just lacked a few basics. It looked like it needed a lick of paint and a bit of attention - it had the feeling of an out of season hotel. We did ask for a double. We got two singles bolted together, and two single duvets, as well. When... More

If you're looking for a 5 star B&B with everything perfect then Brookdale House is not for you: true to most grand old houses it has its quirks and imperfections. But if you want stunningly beautiful architecture and gardens, rooms straight out of a stylish magazine and somewhere to stay that is full of pure country house laid-back magic and... More

My wife and I have been to Brookdale house twice in the past 3 years, once in 2007 and again just this weekend (Nov 2009). Having enjoyed ourselves... More

As a previous reviewer has stated, guests' welfare is not of great concern and our room was not serviced... More

From the website we thought we were in for a treat...but the website is misleading at least from photos. 1 - Cat hair and human hair - the cat must roam free over the table linen and crockery..we found many hairs on the breakfast table, on the plates etc....yuk. Then a human hair..short and curly....really off putting and that is... More
