We have been visiting poets corner for years now, and previously the only thing that let it down was the food.... We ate here last week as we had heard they'd got a new chef, and we weren't disappointed!! Finally the food matches up to the amazing drink and atmosphere of this pub- so lucky to call this our local!!

Good beer, good food. Very accommodating staff, arrived late but managed to get us a table upstairs. They put a bowl of water out for anyone who has brought their dog so keep a lookout as people sometimes knock it over. This is a must visit place when in the area. I get a feel that you could ask the... More

Attended here with family whilst staying in Ashover. A lovely village pub with a great atmosphere and vast selection of local ciders. I ordered the Steak pie, as recommended by the bar maid and it was brilliant! Staff were friendly and attentive . Definitely recommend and I look forward to returning.

We'd been driving locally off the beaten track and were looking for a traditional pub rather than the gastro pubs that several locals had become. This fitted the bill beautifully..Walkers and dogs welcome. Micro brewery next door. Cosy atmosphere and good food . We will be back soon

This is a great pub in a great little country village in the north of England. I come hear every year with friends, and we are never disappointed. Formerly the Red Lion, since it became the Poet's a number of years ago it's been award-winning and with good reason. It has a huge range of local draught brews, from dark... More

We visited the Old Poets Corner for food last year and were happy to return this year to stay in one of their rooms. The pub is easy to find and has parking although this area was full on our second night so we parked on the street. There are five bedrooms upstairs, ours was very pleasant. Toiletries were provided... More

My self and 3 friends recently stayed here whilst attending a wedding. We arrived around 2pm to find the pub full inside and out. Most tables were enjoying lunch which smelt great. After an easy check in we all decided to eat before getting ready. The food was all lovely and diddnt take as long as expected for how busy... More

Great beer, lovely food very friendly staff throughout. Rooms are nicely decorated. Kettle lead needs to be 2" longer for a perfectly comfy stay. Slightly odd arrangement getting to the rooms but it's a charming hotel / pub / brewery / village to spend a few days. Don't miss the village shop opposite.

This was a Sunday curry night, great selection of beers, curry average but acceptable. Rooms very basic but functional. Would stay here again but one night would be enough. It seems a very dog friendly place.

We have just stayed here for a family wedding and had the whole place and the adjoining cottage booked out to accommodate us all. The Pub is excellent with a good range of Beers, the beers brewed on the premises are especially nice. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The accommodation is typical of an old pub B&B, the...
