My husband found Norburton hall in 2012 , I needed peace when I lost my mum , she died of tongue cancer in 2011. It's a beautiful place to go if you need peace and you want to be left alone . Having said that Karen ,the proprietier looks after you if you want to talk and makes you feel... More

Thank you, too, for your beautiful review. It's hard to describe the peace and cosy seclusion that Norburton Hall provides so it was lovely to read your review. Also pleased to say that my kidney stone episode is now a distant memory and the hens are all clucking away contentedly. Looking forward to seeing you back 'home' for your 8th... More

We visited Norburton Hall over the New Year for 10 days, and stayed in the Dairy Cottage. The cottage was very comfortable clean and well equipped. The down stairs is open plan with kitchen, dinning room and lounge, and has a wood burning fire which was a nice touch. In the evening it was great to sit in the arm... More

Norburton Hall is a very special place indeed. It is steeped in history and incredibly atmospheric. This is the perfect place to hide from the stress of modern life, rest and reconnect with nature. We booked a long stay at The Stables, and it was absolutely perfect. We loved the mixture of old and new: the building has got history... More

The Dairy Cottage, part of Norburton Hall, is very comfortable and well equipped in a beautiful peaceful location. Karen, the owner was very friendly and helpful. This was my first visit to Dorset and I enjoyed the lovely countryside and pretty nearby village of Burton Bradstock, as well as trips to Bridport, especially for the wonderful Saturday market, and to... Really pleased to hear that you enjoyed your first visit to Dorset and that you'd be happy to stay all day in the Dairy Cottage. Yes the Dairy Cottage with its log fire is a great all year round base, isn't it, and we're lucky to be well situated in the middle of the Jurassic Coast with lots of places... More

Upon arrival we were greeted by Karen who made our trip plain sailing from the point of booking to check out on our final day. We were welcomed into The Shippen and although we had seen photos of it online it exceeded our expectations. There are two bedrooms, we only used the master but the twin room was light airy... More

We stayed for a week in The Shippen, this was our first holiday with our 6 month old puppy! The standard of the facilities in the cottage was extremely good, we loved the high quality furnishings, the lovely area of grass in the grounds was just right for our four legged family member. We felt 'at home' very quickly and... More

Yes we're lucky to be in an ideal place for walks to the beach and exploring places like Lyme Regis. The coffee in the Hive Beach Cafe is always tempting, too, as you say. Glad that you enjoyed the smoked fish ploughman's and Furleigh Sparkling wine - a great way to start your break! We hope to see you again. More

We stayed with my wife's parents for a week in the Shippen apartment. The whole site is of beautiful grounds and so very peaceful. As a solo traveller, I stayed in The Stables. The accommodation was bright, light and airy and very clean. The double bed was extremely comfy with wonderfully soft pillows and bedding. Parking was very close by (although down some stone steps) and I had my own little terrace area for the tea-time sun+ drink + book. Just the other side... More
