We stopped for lunch (which was fantastic good quality traditional Sardinian) and decided to stay so that we could eat dinner here too (we weren't disappointed). The hotel has a real mountain guest house feeling and has fantastic views. It's comfortable and the hosts are very nice and knowledgeable about the local walks. Don't miss the amazing Gorropu Gorge -... More

I've been going to this restaurant for the past 5 years and the service, the quality of the food and everything's always been flawless. I've had christmas meals, first communions, baptism etc. The Hotel/Restaurant is near the way to Gorroppu Canyon. I'm really looking forward to go there again!

Isolated, but stunning views of the Genargentu mountains. This is a great place to rest before tackling the canyon below. We were 5, 2 kids. We had dinner in their restaurant which I would give a favorable review also...quiet, very helpful staff. More than helpful! They even will pack you a lunch for the trail. All the staff goes out... This hotel has a wonderful location along one of the most beautiful roads of Sardeigna. You can walk down to the river and gulch. Or go by car to one of the beaches in 45 minutes. The people are very nice and helpfull and the food is very good, with all local ingredients.

This hotel proved excellent, service, sleep quality, food, friendliness of staff, location, maintenance, you name it and it was just really great and good value. Nothing negative. We stayed here for two nights with our young children, with the intention to have a full and relaxed day to hike down to the Canyon. Which we did. The concept proved very... More

- Very friendly staff. - Easy parking - Unique location of the hotel: at the top of passo Genna Silana. For those who like this, the hotel is isolated, thus quiet. It's far from everything (outside the hotel's restaurant itself, which serves good Sardinian food, the closest restaurant is 20km away). - A trekking path down to the famous canyon... More

Hotel Silana is perfectly situated and perched at the top of a mountain. In fact, it’s the ONLY thing around at the top of the mountain! We stayed 2 nights allowing us time to arrive and settle in, hike all next day, and recover in the evening at the hotel before setting out east. The rooms were basic but comfortable,... More

This is the place for a stopover if you want to walk down to the Su Gorropu canyon. Beautiful views towards the mountainous surroundings. Very good value (we paid 76 EUR for a double room with breakfast). The rooms are spacious, clean, functional. Breakfast is super (try the sheep ricotta and the sheep yougurt). And the owners, a Sardinian family,... More

What a great place and what an amazingly friendly staff at the hotel. I stayed here two nights and when I had booked the hotel over the internet, I had not realized how incredibly beautiful this hotel is located on the Passo di Silana. Add to this the friendly people who run the hotel and one con conclude: top on... More

Gola su Gorropu may not be as deep as the (US) Grand Canyon but the walk from Silana shares one key feature with a trek from the Grand Canyon's south rim: You do the knee-bashing descent before the muscle-challenging ascent leaving you (I mean us, but you may react the same way) with strange pains when you have finished. So... More
