Attended a sales presentation. Went through normal battery of sales personnel as we stated we weren't interested. Then came Marc -- the last stage of high pressure. This person was the absolute rudest and simple-minded human we have ever encountered at any presentation. The Grupo Mayan has many things to offer but this a$$ completely turned us against the place.... more

Yes it is a very nice place to relax. I will relate informatiom by subject as follows: Timeshare Sharks: We read over, and over how this ruined many peoples vacation. Myself, fiance and two friends took a trip to Nuevo Vallarta from October 17th-24th and stayed at the Grand Mayan. After reading many reviews on here I am excited to say that I had no issues with the timeshare sharks at all. Grand Mayan is surely beautiful, with some definate negatives. We did not have an ocean view,... instead we looked at a garage for 8 dayss. But we expected that given it was a by one get one free condo. The Rooms are nice but definately time for a remodel the beds is HARD.. The couches in Living are more comfortable.... more

We were there for 8 days and enjoyed every minute of it after the initial timeshare presentation. They lie about length and VERY HIGH pressure to buy right then. Just don't go to it and all will be well! Hotel is very comfortable & clean. We did have a towel rack come off the wall, nearly missing my child's head... more

The Grand Mayan resort is clean, well maintained and has all the features needed for a weeks relaxation. Rooms are large and comfortable despite the hard beds. The pools were excellent and the staff extremely attentive and helpful. The pool restaurant was great for breakfast and lunch but the high-end restaurants left much to be desired. We stayed at the Grand Mayan in Nuevo Vallarta in mid-october. We thought we were going to be at the Mayan Palace until the concierge emailed us 3 days before the vacation to let us know that we were moving over to the Grand Mayan, this was a pleasant surprise to us..
