We stayed in a 1-bedroom for our first 2 nights and then finally agreed to a timeshare presentation and were upgraded our last 5 nights to the Grand Mayan. Fact: we did not ONE time feel hounded about timeshare presentations. If you say a firm no to start, we were never asked again. In fact, when we inquired about upgrading... More

We stayed here directly after a week at our time share, Paradise Village. The Mayan is a lower level of ownership in this huge resort. We stayed at the Grand Mayan last year (one of the top level), and except for the Grand's lazy river (NO other levels allowed there!), and perhaps upgraded bath fixtures and slightly larger room with... We checked in and were immediately pounced on by a salesperson that relentlessly sought out an appointment with us for an "owner update." She would not give up until we finally agreed to the "one hour" presentation with free breakfast. It was four grueling hours with a good closer. The room itself seemed to be an anachronistic time share from... More

Beautiful grounds and great board walks....does NOT feel like Mexico!! EXPENSIVE...AND NO MEXICAN FOOD ANYWHERE TO BE FOUND ON PROPERTY. We were very frustrated with the Timeshare presence....DON'T WANT ONE! I had to be totally direct and rude to the lady on the phone because we did NOT WANT TO GO TO A TIMESHARE PRESENTATION!!! We did sleep well!! Had... More

This was our first trip to the Pacific Coast of Mexico. Resort was spectacular. Ocean was nice (not as good as Cancun). We booked through RCI and were happy with the Kitchen. Good range of restaurants, and really enjoyed the Lazy River.

Too huge for my taste, but very fun, very clean, staff was awesome.... kitchen disappointing.... too small to cook.... restaurants very nice-little pricey for what you get, but very good food.... Not their fault, but didn't have very good weather.... rainey and cloudy most of the time.... but had fun of course !!

The moment upon arrival you are corralled, processed, and sorted. You get dropped off a very long ways from your hotel and are expected to walk and take in the beauty as your bags get loaded onto golf carts and are out of site until after check in. Check in WILL be a timeshare briefing if you don't watch yourself.... More

In general it was a good trip. I was pleased with the property changes since the last time I was there and we had nice rooms at the Mayan. The food was great in Havana Moon, the Creperia, Azur and down by the pool. The rooms were kept clean and the staff was great. The market is beautiful as well.... More

I stayed with my wife at the Mayan Palace for two weeks at the end of February in a two bedrooms. The grounds are beautiful with a lot of boardwalk. Gardens and ponds are impressive. Travel between the resorts is easy, shuttle are constantly available for distance travelling, but it's a long walk to the pool and beach. The beach... More
