Vacationed February 17 to 24, 2005. The rating that you give this hotel all depends on what your perception of the hotel was. Some people will be happy and we definitely were not. The reviews we read before going were all so glowing that when we actually got to the Samba, we were disappointed. First if you are paying full... More

This was our first all inclusive trip south and had a wonderful experience. We were there with our three year old twins and it was an excellent choice. Nice quiet resort but with enough activities to stay busy. We easily got the same chairs by the pool even going down by 10 am. Pool is great for little guys as... More

We are from Montreal and we just arrived home from a week at Samba Vallarta and it was wonderful. Our room/suite was nothing short of specatular and Rocio, the girl assigned to clean it, was a real treat. She made swans and elephants out of bathtowels that were absolutely delightful. The staff were quiet, friendly, polite and unobtrusive. I can't... More

My boyfriend and I were there from Feb 10 to the 18th. We specifically went there because of the reportedly good weather and relaxing atmosphere...and it delivered! It was sunny and 28-30 degrees celsius every day. The hotel is beautiful, the service is great, and so are the drinks. The gorgeous beach always had long chairs available and so did... More

What a great find. The Samba is a wonderful week away for anyone not looking to work too hard on a vacation. All we did was hang out at the awesome pool, play in the waves or order another Margarita. This is a terrific family hotel. The Samba is a bit remote. - you can walk to Bucharias (spelling?) about... More

My wife and I had a wonderful 9-day vacation at the Samba Vallarta from Feb 8-17, 2005. This place is only for those who like to spend time relaxing at the pool and/or beach, eating and drinking. There is really not much else to do and very little nearby. This is not a place for teens or the party crowd... More

My husband and I went to the Samba from Feb.12-19/05. We had a fabulous time. The staff are fantastic, and the resort is very clean. Yes, it can smell mildewy, but the cleaners work from dawn till dusk everyday. It is an older hotel, and I think these smells come with age. It was a nice size, we met many... More

Wow, by far the best trip ever! At first I was a little worried that I would get bored sitting by the pool doing nothing for an entire week but the activity staff kept me so busy that I didn't even see the time go! Our whole family had such a blast especially with the volleyball games and the dancing... More

After reading the previous post I felt a need to respond. Spent the week of Jan 8-15 at the Samba with my wife and two boys aged 11 and 14. Having been to Mazatlan, Acapulco and P.V in the past we had a pretty good idea of what to expect in a mexican hotel. This hotel surpassed our expectations! Yes,... More

Just back from a very relaxing week at the Samba. Was not happy with the room overlooking the Riu but they changed it to a pool view within 2 days, much nicer. Hotel is very clean and constantly being maintained. Service was worthy of 5 stars. Food is decent with a good selection on the buffet, I expected more tropical... More
