Last time my husband and I stayed in Mexicali we had stayed at the Araiza, which is pretty much across the street. We had a wonderful stay and it honestly exceeded my expectations. I wanted to try a different hotel and Lucerna was rated higher than Araiza on Tripadvisor so I figured it'd be a good idea to try it... More

Great hotel located a few minutes from the border. Has three really good restaurants: Mexican/American, Italian and Steak/seafood. On longer stays venture out and try the local cuisine, but you don't need to with this place. Two pools, spa, shops...

Stayed here for 4 days and it was a average hotel. Rooms were outdated, My scores. Room - 5 out of 10 - no room safe and room is dark, Service 6 out of 10 Restaurant choice 8 out of 10 (unless it's Sunday's as one on is open?) Breakfast - 7 out of 10 (it's very smoky in the... More

This is one of the top hotels in Mexicali. We stayed in one of the "poolside" cabanas (not even close to the pool). It was roomy enough but the dressing area had only one sink and two people could not get ready without bumping into each other. Our room was right on one of the busiest streets in town -... More

Stay here for a cousin's wedding. She asked me if I can help her with some amenity kits for the guests, so I asked in reception how can I do that. All the team was wonderful, very helpful and friendly, specially Mr. Lemus and Alejandro. Generally, all the hotel staff were very greeting. The rooms are renovated, and they are... More

We were in Mexicali, the capitol city of the Mexican state of Baja California del Norte, to attend the birthday party (200+ attendees) of the mother of a friend of ours. This is a very large hotel complex that seems smaller than it is given the placement of the rooms around the property. They are renovating parts of the hotel... More

Staid here a couple of days, and i have to say that the food is excellent! a bit pricy though especially the pool bar but well worth it. The service in the hotel is excellent and during my stay all the employees try to do there best to help you with any needs or questions that you have. The rooms... More

Let me start with the positives: the service is outstanding everyone is very helpful. the outdoor pool area is very nice. the breakfast buffet that's included is good with lots of Variety. The deluxe rooms are nicely renovated for the most part. The AC worked very well. The negatives: the standard rooms desperately needs to be renovated. the newly renovated... More

We stayed over Mothers Day weekend and were glad to have chosen the Lucerna in Mexicali. Some construction at the front but good signs to direct you around that as needed. Friendly staff were helpful at every opportunity. Good to know this small chain tries to keep employees for a career, not just as disposable workers. The care comes thru... More

Would be great if the beds can be improved, room 715 has 2 beds and they are very old and not very comfortable. The pool are very good only if you can install a heater fir the water would be great. Food very good and price fit food quality.
