The Mocambo may have more history than the other hotels in Boca del Rio (which is five or six miles to the south of downtown Veracruz), but the service in this hotel is lacking considering the price you pay (about 100 dollars per night or more). It is clear that the owners of the place have decided to cut costs... more

I stayed here for 3 nights in November, 2007. I was in town for a conference at the WTC and this place was a perfect location nearby. The breakfast buffet is a great deal and the food was tasty. If you don't want a buffet, there are many restaurants a short walk away. It is a bit older, but there... more

We stayed at this hotel for 3 days and were impressed by the romantic vistas, traditional style, and even the food in the restaurant, which is good and half the price of most hotel fair. If you get a room with a view of the sea, you are better off. They are clean and neat if somewhat spartan. The staff... more

We stayed in this hotel from Feb. 4th - 7th, 2006. We will stay again only if the other option we have is to stay in the streets. The hotel has not been taken care of for many years, there is mildew all over the place, food was not good, waitress did not give good service, lack of Management, staff... more

When we arrived at Hotel Mocambo after an all night bus ride, our room was ready and waiting and the front desk promptly checked us in and had a bellman escort us to our room as dawn was breaking. A gorgeous sunrise view was our reward, along with black out curtains that let our sleep deprived bodies happy! Each morning,... more

We stayed in the hotel for two nights and three days in December. The food was excellent and the rooms were very comfortable. For people who like to sleep in the curtains are very thick and no light gets in the room unless you want there to be. For such a nice place I found that the televisions were a... more

It is such a lovely place, the people are great, the view, the food..... all fantastic! Although some of the sparkle has faded, I can only imagine what it must have been like 50+ years ago.... but it is still quite charming! We had a fantastic time and will return! more

We stayed in the Mocambo Hotel Veracruz for two weeks with three children (4,8 and 10). They loved the hotel and swimming pools, we loved El Tajin, a huge Totanac Indian city 140 Miles away, and the relaxed atmosphere and friendly people. We all hated the dirty beach and the fact that absolutely everything is served with chilli - even... more

My husband and I spent part of our honeymoon here in 1984. It was classic and elegant and romantic. It was the best hotel we found in the area. We will be returning in 2004 for our 20th anniversary, so I'll post again after we return. more
