This in an excellent hotel with a friendly, helpful staff. Throughout my stay, they could not have done more to ensure that I had a great time. I liked the layout of the hotel, as it made the rooms cool and quiet, and I did not mind the walk into the centre, unlike some reviewers, and felt that it was... More

We spent a couple of nights there and we liked it. It's nicely decorated with rustic and antique furniture. Even though is not a new building, rooms are clean and free of any weird smell. Breakfast was good. The restaurant has some good options and the juices are just delicious. I recommend you have dinner there one night at least.... More

I spent three night in this hotel; is comfortable, well located if you like to walk. The hotel is located about one mile from downtown (that is, Xalapa's cathedral and the Government palace). To arrive you must climb a hill. The view is beautiful.

The hotel has a lovely interior and friendly staff but the rooms face the main courtyard. The noise from the dining room and bar can be heard in some of the rooms. Make sure you get a room far from the courtyard. It was a bit of a surprise that it was 14 blocks from the main plaza and restaurants... More

Although billed as in "el centro," Villa Las Margaritas is actually a little more than a mile from the center of Xalapa (where the Catedral and palacio de gobierno are located), up a very steep one-way street, filled with cars (and an abundance of taxis) racing downward toward "el centro." The neighborhood is eclectic, but safe. However, whatever Villa Las... More

Pros: Close to historic El Centro ($1.30 USD taxi ride, down a long hill) Nice accomodations, inexpensive, comfortable, Great restaurant with inexpensive dishes. Good Service from staff, very attentive on all accounts. Convenient safe free parking. Cons: Just one. Bring Earplugs! Many rooms are right next to the coffee bar and expresso machine. All rooms have a thin window that... More

Despite its name, Las Villas de Margarita Centro is hardly in the center of Xalapa. It is nearly a mile down a very steep hill (and even steeper coming back up) to the central area of the city, Parque Juaez. This is the hotel´s chief drawback it is in a somewhat depressed area and there are few shops and restaurants... More
