The room was clean, had nice beds, had hot water, had international channels on TV, etc. However, noise from the room above could easily be heard (including the voices), the shower was so small that it was difficult to get inside and then close the door (which swung inward), and the room was absolutely cold at all times even though... You say "Jalapa", I say "Xalapa" but don't let that discourage you - this is a charming university town with beautiful parks, gardens and walks. Lots of nice restaurants and hotels but the Posada Del Cafeto is best. On a quiet street, just a couple of blocks from the beautiful Jardine, this inn is spotlessly clean and very charming. Lovely... We stayed a couple of nights in this hotel, visiting our daughter who was studying for the semester at Universidad de Veracruzana - Xalapa. The hotel was on a quiet side street with a wonderful courtyard once inside. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. The room price included a continental breakfast and for only about $2 more, we were able... More

An oasis is a busy city. Quiet, quaint, with beautiful garden and grounds. Very clean and comfortable. Excellent security. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is great and served hot. We came for one night and this is our 5th. You should be pleased with your choice if you decide to stay at Posada Del Cafeto.

This hotel is located within walking distance of the downtown attractions. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The rooms are arranged around a small, pretty garden. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is included, and you can get almost anything you want, with unlimited coffee and orange juice.

La Posada del Cafeto was a wonderful experience for us all. Tucked in the heart of Xalapa, you enter through a secured unassuming front street entrance to reveal a stunning secret paradise as unique and enchanting as Mexico has to offer. The rooms are very clean and well attended to regularly for replenishment and clean linens. The aesthetic was a... More

This well maintained older hotel is right near the centro, but on a small side street so it is quiet. Thick walls from the period construction.Well done restoration. The manager did not speak English, but he worked with my crappy Spanish to help me out with a problem. The price was very fair for what I got. The courtyard would... More

The hotel is much bigger than it seems. The staff are friendly and the prices a great deal (they include breakfast of juice, coffee or tea and either juice with yogurt and granola, a croissant with jam and butter or cereal with milk; eggs, enfrijoladas, enchiladas are served for an extra $35 pesos). The hotel is charming, full of staircases... More

Very convenient pretty little hotel in the city center. The attention is good, the rooms are small but immaculate, and it has a few tables outside to take the sun if you're lucky enough to get good weather. You don't get any traffic noise from the outside, but the customers (mostly Mexican) can be noisy at times. With that exception,... More

I would highly recommend the Posada del Cafeto. It is located in the older and more beautiful part of Xalapa, and is an easy three-minute walk to the center of town. The rooms are simple, but very nice, with a television, large windows, and beautiful gardens. At breakfast, you can have eggs, yogurt, and freshly-squeezed orange juice among many other... More
