I'll start by saying that if you book a room here online, call to confirm. We received an email from the hotel confirming our reservation but when we arrived, they did not have us confirmed. Thankfully they had a room for us. The location is very central but the rooms are lacking. The rooms are clean but the beds are... More

clean, friendly staff ,Incredible breakfast, homey, gapped wifi, good location downtown, overall a winner in Xalapa. Easy access to the museum and restaurants. Close to Benito Juarez park and walking distance to the university. Price totally reasonable. the best breakfast in town. Easy to find for taxi drivers an friends alike. Xalapa is not your standard tourist colonial town in Mexico... More

Centrally located near the cathedrals, the city square, and with in walking distance of a lot of great restaurants and coffee shops. Front desk people were indifferent, the phone seemed to hold there attention more than we did standing there. Rooms were clean, small and very basic. Seemed pricey. Breakfast that came with the room was also average. Secure parking... More

The best thing about this stay was that they had an awesome deal associated with the restaurant. The rate included a small continental breakfast, but you could take the price of that and deduct it from other items on the menu. On our first morning we did that, and the breakfast was just delicious. On the second morning, we had... More

Beautiful antique style hotel with beautiful wood furnish in the rooms, just a few steps from downtown. Great breakfast, with traditional recipes, must try de homemade «requeson» bread with hot traditional chocolate or a hot cup of local coffee. The rooms are quite noisy.

Coatepec is a Pueblo Màgico, and you do not expect much of the hotels. However this one has very bad internet, in some rooms even none. Some of the rooms are really tiny, in two levels: bathroom, sofa and TV in the first, bed in the second. Door barely open and the stairs are really dangerous. Smell like someone smoke... More

We stayed in June 2013. On arrival the desk staff were polite, but the young man showing us to our room was very well mannered indeed, offering us a choice of vacant rooms. Great start. The room was rustic and basic, and in honesty the bathroom could do with an update. But otherwise it had some lovely features, and was... More

Dear guest, We would like to thank you for sharing the issue you had in our restaurant, we have taken the appropiate measures to make sure this never happens again. We do bake our bread and this was completely unacceptable. As you mention errors can happen and the response in this case was not appropriate, we are sorry you had... More

This is a beautiful hotel located a couple of blocks from the Zocalo. It is a short drive from the university and all of the major city sights. Check-in was efficient and reasonably friendly. I had a single loft room which is quite narrow so it was a challenge to lay out my large suitcase. The comfortable bed is located... More

I was excited to stay at Meson del Alferez on our first visit to Xalapa. We probably will not stay there for our next visit. The hotel's location was great--just about one block to the cathedral and zocalo. The hotel and our room had a charming design. The staff were courteous and helpful. Parking, though a block away, was inside... More

If you want to be in the center of the city, this is the place. Beautifully maintained, comfortable, good staff, decent wifi, clean, good breakfasts, and on and on. Our room was 103, right next to the reception area. It has the infamous staircase leading up to the loft and the sleeping area. The stairs were a pain but it... More
