My friend and I spent 3 nights at the Hacienda after staying at Cuixmala, the sister property located about 2.5 hours away. We had a wonderful stay--lounging by the pool, horseback riding through the orchards, picnicking in some of the most picturesque settings, watching DVDs in the cozy entertainment room and drinking on the rooftop patio. We also learned how to roast coffee and make cheese. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to do the volcano hike or go into town.
The meals were a major part of the experience. I am a food snob and I thought the cuisine was phenomenal. The dinners, which were held in a different room every night, rivaled some of the best meals I've had in Napa, SF, LA or NYC. All of the food is organic and almost all of it is produced at the Hacienda.
