I do geological fieldwork at nearby Colima volcano and when not campling in the field, am looking for a place to do no more than sleep and take a shower. La Merced is one of my favorites, because it is cheap and centrally located. You can get a safe room, right downtown, for $12-$15 US, compared to 5-10X that amount... more
