The first thing I should say is that I got a suite. It cost about double what a regular room did but after reading about some of the small rooms I decided to splurge. The room, although not a true two room suite, is huge. At least 24X20 with 14 foot ceiling, elaborately coved. We have two small balconies overlooking... more

The chuch bell were great. they are loud as they are right acoss the street. I recomend the roof top for watching as they have a crew of teenagers. ringing them. And... more

This is without a doubt the place to stay in Colima City as far as location goes. It's right in the middle of town with stunning views of the massive Catholic church and the beautiful courtyard and within walking distance to all of the museums, shops and dining. The service is not great. The room we were in had a... more

Walked in and got a room. Moderately priced, room old and spartan. No internet access. Shower head fell out of wall when I went to move it! Very noisy given location and very anxious bell ringer at the Cathedral! But a great location for being in the middle of everything. Lady of Guadalupe celebration in the jardin was fantastic display... more

Perhaps coming from IMO the finest best staffed hotel in all of Mexico made this experience worst then I would normally find. While I had booked a Plaza faced room months earlier I was informed that none were available. We were shown too dark, tiny cramped rooms reminiscent of a Monks cell. Since we had too much luggage to trudge... more

I drove into Colima for the first time, not knowing where I would stay. I checked out 3 hotels downtown (also Hotel America and Posada La Merced). Ceballos was the nicest - and also the most expensive at US $83 a night. The front desk people and the bellhops all speak English, and the ones I dealt with were all... more

This will be a mix commentary of both the good and the bad all at once. We changed rooms several times til we got it right. So I will comment/review on the following rooms 103, 119, 124, 131, 135. This is a good hotel with a very central location, close to shops, restaurants, bars, newstand, pharmacy etc. very happening place.... more

This place saved my life. Our family was vacationing in Mexico in a small town where my sister fell and broke 8 bones. She had to be taken into Colima (never part of our plan). We stayed at the private hospital through the night and 7 hrs of operation. I was told to go find us a hotel, and given... more

This hotel is not Gringo friendly, at least not at check in. We had taken a red eye into Guadalajara and arrived in Colima at 11:30 am. The hotel knew this ahead of time since I told them this when I made the reservations via email. When we arrived, they told us our room wasn't ready and to come back... more

Made a first visit to Colima, only 3 hours from Guadalajara. Lovely city, which we learned is one of the first established in Mexico, which helps explain the abundance of Colonial Architecture. Several lovely plazas throughout downtown. Hotel Ceballos, which faces the main plaza was a fine treat. They post their Best Western affiliation, but it was not possible to... more
