We just got back yesterday from a weeks vacation. We exchanged through RCI and had a 2 bedroom lockout. The drive down from the Phoenix area was smooth. We got there about a half hour past dark which was a mistake. We did get turned around in the town of Rocky Point, but a man that worked for Mayan resorts... more

I went to the Timeshare presention and like mentioned before, the staff tells it will only take 90 minutes. We were there for 4 hours. I was explained that I could use all the Mayan resorts, so I got the timeshare after being pressured over and over..When I went to reserve for October 3 - 5. I was told that... more

The drive was a lot better than I expected. The roads were clear and fairly well paved. The signs as we got closer to Puerto Penasco were a little confusing, so we ended up in town rather than turning to the road to get there, but we ran into a local person who noticed we looked a little lost and... more

My family & I just returned from a week at the Mayan Palace, where we are members but we went through RCI. This is our second time there and my 2 kids (5 & 8 yrs old) loved it. They loved the clean pool and the attention they get from the activity staff. We were given a master room in... more

My husband and I drove down to the Mayan Palace in Puerto Penasco, Mexico just after school was out and he was off for the summer. We found the place without a hitch and the area is incredibly beautiful and unincorporated. However, the Mayan Palace is literally in the middle of nowhere. You are virtually trapped and at the mercy... more

Just got back from my second time at Mayan Palace. I went with my boyfriend's family just as I did last year. Positives: The beach is gorgeous, especially at sunset. Spectacular views and warm, clear water. The waves aren't boogie board or surf-worthy, but it makes it easier for kids and non-swimmers to enjoy the sea. breakfast buffet is also... more

I had the pleasure of staying with a friend (time share owner) and her kids during the week of July 25th 2008. So, fortunately I didn't have any issues with the sales staff. But I agree with some of the negative feed back from other folks. The Mayan does nickel and dime you to death. As mentioned over and over... more

This isolated resort is located about 20 miles from town, with no shuttle service available. Calling a cab, which will cost you $45 round trip, and will also result in a surprise fee from the hotel for calling the cab for you. This place charges you for everything that other hotels or resorts consider part of their customer service. Because... more

Spent four long days here. This "RESORT" is about 25 miles out of town, so it's a trip into town. The hotel does not have many ammenities, and the ones that they do offer have a charge attached. They charge to use the gym, they charge to use the tennis rackets, they even charge you to call a taxi to... more

Writing this from the resort. First off, you can get free internet, just bring a laptop with wifi. Otherwise they charge 7 dollars an hour to use the computer room. They offer a lot of activities like golf, billards, air hockey and more. Most of these are good unfortunately they charge 10 dollars an hour to play on the 3... more
