Mayan Palace Resort, Puerto Penesco, Mexico May 17, 2015 My wife Sheryl and I left our home in Diamond Bar, California on Saturday, May 9, 2015. Our destination today was the Shilo Inn in Yuma, Arizona, a little more than half way to our Ultimate destination on Sunday of the Mayan Palace in Puerto Penesco, Mexico. We left at 10... More

I was very pleasee with my recent visit to the mayan palace/grand mayan. The grand mayan recently opened and when they are done with construction it will be very beautiful. You might want to wait until 2017 to go there unless you don't mind soaking in the sun while construction workers look at you out of the corner of the... More

My husband and I heard/read such nice things about The Mayan Palace from friends that we decided to go for a few nights. It is located in Puerto Penasco, also known as "Rocky Point", which is nice because it's only a 4 hour road trip from our house in Fountain Hills, AZ. 3 hours to the Mexican border and 1... More

We have visited for 11 years...check in continues to be a nightmare. For the past 3 years we make a note of room location preference when reserving, then call ahead the week or 10 days prior to arrival...this year it took an hour of argument and the rude manager confrontation to FINALLY GET OUR ROOM..IN A COMPLETELY EMPTY WING (supposedly... Dear a72tr6: We really appreciate the time you have taken to share with us your impression about your stay at Mayan Palace. It is disappointing to learn that your experience was not satisfactory. We generally receive very favorable comments about our staff and the service they provide; unfortunately in this instance, it would appear that is not the case. Please... More

We spent 6 nights and 7 days at the Mayan Palace, Puerto Penasco, Mexico, last week. It is about 20 miles out of town so there are no other close restaurants, etc. nearby. The tide goes out 1/3 - ½ mile every night so in the morning there are thousands of beautiful shells all up and down the beach. Overall... More

Where do I start?! Let's first begin with the road just to get there. It is dangerously full of very large potholes, ruts, and broken asphalt. You're traveling 60 mph through some of the ugliest, dry flat desert, and BAM! you've burst a tire or almost hit head-on by an oncoming car that went into your lane to avoid a... More

Worst Place we have ever been to in Mexico and we go 3-4 times a year. This was our 5th trip to Puerto Penasco over the past 3 years, but the first to the Mayan Palace. The resort is located on a VERY rough road, 20+ miles off the main hwy to Rocky Point and 30 miles from the city.... More

The road is 5+ miles of axle-busting potholes. Also we went as guests of a member who was unable to use her reservation. As guests our room was downgraded from a suite to a studio. No coffee maker and no kitchen facilities meant the food we brought from the states was worthless. Management looked into the situation and after 3... More

This was the worst resort out of our many visits to Mexico. The resort is located about 20 miles from the main road and 25-30 miles from town on a very very, very bad road. It is 20 miles from the closest convenience store or gas station and another 5-10 miles from restaurants, shopping and entertainment of town. The resort... More

First impression was a positive. Walking through a mysteriously beautiful entryway to arrive at the lobby, my wife and I were impressed with the detail and pleasant aroma in the reception area. The rooms were terrific. Clean and pretty, the housekeeping staff did a great job everyday of mixing up the towel decor so that we'd have something to look... More
