This is my 2nd visit to this property and as a Seasons Membership Holder was keen to see what the clubhouse refurbishment was like and if anything had changed since my last visit just over 2 years ago. On arrival which was smooth at reception we were informed the lodge I had booked would not be ready until 16.00 which... More

A stay at Whitbarrow always sees us leaving feeling relaxed and refreshed and this year made the perfect New Year's destination for us (two adults and two teens - 16 & 14) after a hectic year. But having read some reviews we thought we would just dispel some myths. Firstly an update, Cumbria has been hit hard by the recent... More

A great centre for the North Lakes. The three bedroom cottage was very comfortable and warm; the environment very welcoming and beautifully presented; the reception, pool, bar and restaurant newly refurbished and a perfect place to go to relax, swim and eat and everyone we met was friendly and helpful. For a winter break it was perfect and the snow... More

We stayed here for a week with friends in a super 2 bedroom house on the resort. It was well presented and well fitted out. The resort is in a beautiful setting and has good pool, spa and restaurant facilities. It is well placed to explore the northern lakes and Northumberland. The staff were welcoming and as it snowed while... More

Fantastic resort with lots of different style properties from old farm building conversions, large modern houses and modern apartments, On site gym and indoor swimming pool and excellent restaurant on site. There is lots to see and do around Penrith making it an excellent base for the seeing the Lake District. We have stayed at Whitbarrow several times over the... More

Stayed in a 3 bedroom lodge which was excellent, well stocked of utensils and was very comfortable indeed. Only downside I would say is the bunk bed in bedroom 3 which is OK if you are there with children but we had 2 adults in there...good job one of them was fit to climb to the top bunk! Apart from... Perhaps not the best time to visit the area in the worst weather of the year. We stayed in c4. 3 bed and 3 story house in old stable block. Very clean. Very comfortable. All kitchen equipment. Everything well maintained. But way too warm with heating on. Came on at 0330 each night and woke us all up despite settings... More

resort near Perinth gateway to the Lake District. Must have a car to explore and enjoy the lovely lakes sceneries and old villages. Resort good. Kitchen and living area spacious in the two BR apartment. Wifi internet only available in the reception, very slow. No wifi in the apartment.

I have visited and reviewed Whitbarrow Village before and again we enjoyed our visit, despite the worst rain I have ever seen in The Lake District - and that is saying something!! What I want to mention is the newly refurbished restaurant and sitting area in the Club House. It is very nice and the relocated restaurant is very tastefully... More

I want to start with the positives. The grounds are very nice, with some quite picturesque stone and vine-covered buildings, a duck pond, a life size chess board and a playground with miniature golf. I had an excellent deep-fried haddock in the restaurant. The staff was friendly and as helpful as they could be. The welcome talk by Andy was... More
