Hotel Budir is a special place. Very remote and surrounded by a windswept beach, lava fields and a dramatic mountain range, there's very little civilization nearby. Inside, the hotel is tastefully decorated with warm materials, framed photos, plush furniture and stylish, cozy rooms. At night, the wind whipped outside, which only added to the atmosphere. The restaurant dinner and breakfast... More

I was there in June with my wife and we were very satisfied with the hotel and the staff who were very helpful and friendly. The location was great and the landscape extremely beautiful. We will sure be back in the near future.

Budir’s website does not do it justice. Located on the water’s edge with a private dock, Budir has panoramic views of the sea, the glacier-covered mountain to the west, and waterfalls cascading over the escarpment to the north. The pleasant common areas make use of the views. There are comfortable lounges on the ground and first floors. The standard rooms... More

Hotel is very well finished and in a great location. There are plenty of very nice lounge areas. Rooms are decent if not quite as good as the rest of the hotel. Dinner was excellent, very high quality fair. The hotel and restauraunt in particular was a little disorganised re booking and seating for dinner, taking orders etc.

Me and my boyfriend went there for a Valentine Day and it was extraordinary! We had a nice room and we loved the food there. Especially the sandwich that they had for lunch, It was very good. We have many times thought to drive there again just for lunch! Room was very clean and we didn't hear any other guest,... More

This hotel was the nicest one we stayed at during our two weeks in Iceland. The area is very remote and has breathtaking scenery. We received a lovely welcome from the receptionist, who was very pleasant and genuine. The food in the restaurant was lovely (go for the lamb!) beautifully cooked and well presented. There was even music and entertainment... More

OK, we had hiccups with our dining reservations, due to the late arrival of a large group, but the staff and management were very apologetic and gave us free desserts. Our evening meal was one of the best meals we had throughout our holiday and breakfast was adequate and plentiful. The hotel itself has huge windows in almost every wall... More

The hotel is in a picturesque isolated location with nice views, and although the hotel was rebuilt quite recently, it's been decorated and furnished to look much older, like an old English country house - both the rooms and the public areas. The room was nicely furnished, and the shower room small but sufficient. Wifi in the room was not... More

This hotel is literally in the middle of nowhere! Luckily it has a restaurant on site. Room was clean and bright. I loved the window seat, which gave me a view of the water. I spent hours reading on the seat and watching the high and low tide. A bonus was watching a seal play in the water. The view... More
