The hotel is in a magnificent isolated location with brilliant views around. The room was clean and warm, as was the hotel throughout. Breakfast was a continental style with a good selection. I would not hesitate to return however I would not book the more expensive room with a bath, the hotel has no geothermal water so although the shower... More

Wanted a night out of Reykjavik and chose this hotel after reading the reviews. The journey was an adventure in itself with blowing snow causing greatly reduced visibility on the roads out to this remote and beautiful spot. Apart from the stunning setting the hotel had a lot more going for it. The bedroom had loads of character and great... More

We had a lovely two night stay at Budir. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel wasn't formal and had the nice, homely feel like you were staying at someone's ski lodge. The food in the restaurant was superb and I can understand why it receives such great reviews. The budget rooms in the loft were very small,... More

My family and I went on a 12 day trip to Iceland and this was the second hotel we stayed at. The nature surrounding the hotel is beautiful, to say the least. We arrived at night and thus could not see the lava fields surrounding the hotel. Waking up the next morning and seeing the view was mind blowing! HOWEVER,... More

I've been having trouble actually writing this review because I know words can't do justice to Hotel Budir and its surroundings. This part of Iceland, the Snaefellsnes Peninsula is not to be missed. We had four days in the country and spent two of them in Reykjavik and two at Budir. If we return (when we return!) Snaefellsnes and Budir... More

The location of this hotel is absolutely incredible. Our room had a fantastic view. The chaps on the bar and reception were incredibly helpful, polite and full of good tips regarding the local area, travel to the whale watching and the road conditions. The food was fresh and amazing. We could have easily stayed here longer. There's a great little... More

Hotel Budir (Hótel Búðir), has for a very long time been a part of the Icelandic hotel scene, as a youngster I used to visit the old hotel almost every summer and the same goes for many Icelanders. I'm not alone when saying that Snæfellsnes is one of the most beautiful part of Iceland. It was time to visit the... More

After a 3 hour drive from Reykjavik, we managed to find our way to Hotel Budir in the Snaefellsnes. Luckily we arrived before sunset, hence we were able to enjoy the sunset view of the area. The surrounding was really peaceful, quiet, and serene, and we feel like one with nature. We came with 3 heavy luggage, and our room... More

I don't want to sound like a wet blanket but maybe it's because we had a lousy room at the top corner. Bed was creaky and torn bed frame under covers. There was a hole in the wallpaper which spooked my wife out. The balcony door couldn't be shut properly. I believe this hotel has the potential to be charming... More

Having read the reviews, we expected great things. It started well... We got Room 28 and, on arrival, had a nice lunch in the bar. The receptionist was a lovely lady. The views are also stunning. But it all went downhill from then. Lounge areas are cold, no staff at the bar or on reception in the evenings. One guest... More
