My experience at Hawthorn House in August was so good that I returned the following week for another few days but Trip Advisor doesn't allow 2nd review for the same place within three months. It's a great B&B and I have no hesitation in recommending it. More

We take it as a great compliment that you have posted a further review for your second stay with us, having had to follow the Trip Advisor guidelines and delay posting the second review. It also shows the kind of organisational skills that we could only dream of!!! We hope you decide to visit us again soon. Thanks. Tim &... More

A brilliant B&B! We stayed in the King Size En Suite which had a fabulous sea view, perfect for watching the sunset. Other highlights of our room included white fluffy bathrobes, a heated towel rail, fresh milk and homemade shortbread (replenished each day!) The breakfasts were superb with generous portions and huge pots of tea and coffee. For dinner, Tim... More

Spent 2 nights at Hawthorne House in October 2011, it is without exception, the BEST EVER B & B I have stayed in. Tim and Hilary's attention to detail is so thoughtful and makes the experience of staying at Hawthorn House so much more than just a bed for the night. The house is warm and welcoming, as are the... Spent one night with Tim and Hilary in September 2011. Wonderful, warm and friendly welcome - much appreciated after a long journey. The entire B & B was spotlessly clean and their attention to attention is worth a mention. We took the 10 minute stroll in the evening to the local pub in Port William where we enjoyed a simple... Recently stayed at Hawthorn house for a long weekend with my husband and Father in law to trace the family history. The B and B is in a fab location and Tim and Hilary couldn't be more welcoming. Breakfast was great and was enough to fill us up for the rest of the day! Rooms were spacious, comfy and clean.... More

We really enjoyed this. The location is right on the coast, with (for us) soothing noises of wind and sea in the background. We had the ensuite bedroom which is spacious, comfortable, and very well appointed with lots of extra little touches. Our adult daughter was very happy her with her room too. Our hosts were very welcoming and gave good... More

With its white cotton bedding and hallmarked tableware, Hawthorn House is not what you expect from a budget B&B. Although a single room, I had a double bed and appreciated that the bathrobe provided was XL. Nowhere else have I seen both cup and mug (+ wineglass) or home made shortbread provided in the room. Breakfast was easily the best... More

Despite arriving late on a very wet August night (we had phoned a couple of hours earlier), a parking space had been made available for us right by the front door and we were very warmly welcomed. Having signed in, we were mmediately shown to our room (the King-Size En-suite), the hospitality tray was pointed out and we were given... More
