option for me – we stayed here for two nights and used it as a pit stop to visit Akumal and Tulum (please see my review of the marina for my take on Puerto Aventuras). To clear up any hotel, B&B, hostel confusion; this is literally a house that is used to run a B&B (there are many similar houses... More

Dear Guest, thanks for your review, we would like to respond to some of your sentences as Tripadvisor give us this opportunity. You write:" you literally feel like you are a guest in someone’s house". Of course! it's a bed and breakfast and most of these type of accomodations are managed by families who live there in fact most of... More

We stayed two nights at the Villas Picalu, and the price was incredibly low. The price was low since the bathroom is a shared arrangement between two rooms; however, for us, no one was in the other bedroom, so we did not have to share. The location is very close to the "downtown" area of Puerto Adventuras so one could... More

I was put in touch with Sonja and Alberto through planet scuba dive shop. What a great recommendation. Nice clean rooms, bright and airy. The common area had nice comfortable furnishing and breakfast was delicious. They have a swimming pool and their very own cenote in the back garden. The shared bathroom was fine, nice and big and very clean.... More

Although Puerto Aventuras is a kind of a compound, far from real Mexican life, it is a perfect place to get used to Mexican climate and to recover from your jet lag. There are some nice places to visit and also Isla Cozumal is not far from here. The house is perfect and Alberto and Sonia are very good hostes.... More

Last month my husband and I did some cenote diving in the area and the nearby dive shop that we were diving with arranged this accommodation for us. We were happy they did, since our stay was a very pleasant one. The room was bright and clean, and our host Alberto was very welcoming and made us feel at home.... More

Located in the gated community of Puerto Aventuras, this lovely and well-managed B&B is perfectly located to explore what the Riviera Maya has to offer: only a five minute drive from beautiful cenotes, half hour away from amazing beaches (Akumal), an hour away (or less) from Tulum, and an hour and a half from Cobà. Owners are very friendly and... More

2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2014

First I'll list the positives: inexpensive, good location for trips along the coast, quiet, friendly. The downsides: our first floor room was moldy (not just the usual mustiness common to tropical places), to the point where I needed the window and door open as much as possible just to breathe easy. The cenote in the back yard was an algae'd... More

Good morning Mrs "Bluegreen", thanks for your review. I'd like to underline some details even it was easier to check with us : -our cenote is a natural cenote with mangrooves and it's protected by the mexican's laws so we can't put chemicals or clean like a "commercial" one and concerning the dead fish (are u serious???) probably you should... Spent 2 nights at this lovely B&B managed by Alberto & Sonia. Location is fantastic. Owners very friendly and careful to details. Puerto Aventuras is a great spot for visiting the surroundings (Tulum, Coba', Riviera Maya, Cenotes ect..). I definitely reccomend it!

Villas Picalu was an amazing find. It's in a gated community and easy to get to other places from here. Since it's a large community, you have everything near by, convenience stores, delicious restaurants and even hotels that offer lots of services. The owners are incredibly nice and very helpful with anything you ask. We felt welcome and comfortable here.... More
