The Winning Post is a fantastic place for a short break with or without children. We stayed for two nights on a mini break from London. The staff were all very friendly and the food was excellent quality. The staff also bent over backwards to make our stay as comfortable as possible with a 6 month old baby serving us... More

We both thoroughly enjoyed our night here, booked based on reviews, proximity to Ascot, and the fact that unlike our other choice food would be available on a Sunday evening. The setting is quite rural, and pretty. The pub bar, dining areas and rooms were lovely, we very much enjoyed both the evening meal and breakfast, and very importantly staff... More

The staff were friendly enough. The shower was brilliant - instantly hot and really powerful. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean and of a good size. The breakfast was superb - quality items cooked to perfection. The pub amenities were good (see separate restaurant review). The free wifi worked reliably. The only issue, but unfortunately it is a... More

A friendly place to spend a few days. Our room was spacious and quiet.Fresh milk in the fridge and plenty of teas ,coffee(also a cafetiere)etc. The food is really good without being pretentious.Plenty of the usual choices for breakfast and the evening meals cater for every taste and appetite. We came home feeling we had picked well. You do need your car to... We booked a double room which was excellent. Comfortable, clean with everything one might need. A great bathroom with shower and bath. We were shown to our room and baggage carried up. Explained how everything worked by the most welcoming and polite chap. The breakfast was simply fantastic. The nicest sausages and bacon one could hope for. Couldn't recommend it... More

Had a light lunch here today with my wife. Went for the sharing board - smoked salmon, crayfish and crab with a salad and bottle of wine. Staff were really good and the French manager excellent. Lunch was around £60 - so a fair price.

In the 1950's when I was growing up in Winkfield this pub was called The Jolly Farmer (known locally as 'old Joes'), so on our recent trip to the UK we did the memory lane thing, and popped in for a beer. Wow, what a transformation it has seen through the years, and is now a very stylish place on... More

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived , it was a bright sunny day s d everyone was sitting outside enjoying the fine weather, so we quickly checked in , the room was upstairs which was accessed from an outside stair case so not good if it was raining , but it wasn't so all good for us , the... Has a small number of guest rooms, recently refurbished but a little dated (adds to the charm). Restaurant is the real reason to visit. Wide menu choice, often with seasonal and local ingredients. Good wine list and real ales.

The food was average which was a surprise given the price. Service was slow and the waitress had no idea about the menu Atmosphere was nice enough and I really like the location and restaurant Summary - Average & struggling to live up to it's former Cottage Inn days!
