Booked table a couple of weeks ahead and arrived early on the night - no friendly welcome - in fact no welcome at all. The 'locals' were also pretty hostile. At this stage the Bells started to Ring O'!!! Ordered a pint of Betty Stoggs, from a 'disinterested' barmaid, proved to be warm and in poor condition - can't blame... More

Have been here three times this year and the food has been underwhelming. I recommend sticking with scampi & chips - steaks have been very overdone, Mediterranean chicken undercooked and very unappetising. I am surprised at other reviews claiming very good food - this is not my experience (and I am not being hyper-critical or expecting "restaurant quality"). Otherwise atmosphere... More

This is an unpretentious pub in a small village with good beer and good pub grub. The menu is nothing fancy but it is very good value. I had the home made steak pie with chips and hubby had their home made sausages with mash. There was a bit of a wait for the food as quite a few locals... More

Ate here on 20 April. Food arrived promptly and was of a reasonable standard. The staff were very friendly. Only one minus point - if you want to set up a bar tab, they want your card from you. I do not doubt the honesty of the staff, but I am afraid I am not leaving my card anywhere that... More

We visit the Padstow area often and stay in B&B's, but the downside of that is the need to find somewhere to eat in the evenings. The Ring O'Bells hits the spot if you are staying nearby. It's a very welcoming little pub and they serve very good food. Nothing pretentious but friendly staff and excellent value. You can also... More

We chanced on this pub/restaurant on a rainy january sunday lunchtime. The gloom was dispelled as soon as we entered the front door .Although very busy the staff immediately found us a table and took our order. The lunch was a delight ,succulent beef or pork locally sourced and vegetables from their own smallholding and couldn't you tell. The lunch... More

I found the staff to be polite and welcoming, the food was excellent - the pie that I had was the best pub food that I've had for some time. They even had pickled eggs behind the bar! Very good, I will be stopping by again.

My parents have lived near Padstow for many years and we needed somewhere close by for a few days. The Ring O Bells was ideally situated and my wife, my daughter and I were able to stay in the family room, which was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good , the publican Chris rears his own livestock and everything was... More
