Beautiful setting, pleasant staff and tasty, but slightly limited, food. I enjoyed a 3 course meal with drinks in the main bar area for just under £50. A decent selection of ales, wines with a very accomplished service. Would certainly recommend and visit again.

In the middle of no where....this fantastic inn offers cozy, nicely decorated rooms with comfortable beds. Loved the location, and taking our pre-dinner drinks on the terrace with the fantastic views. Great dinner to finish the day. Only one regret...not to have bought one of the paintings exhibited by the local artists. Thank you for the great stay!

Great food and a lovely feel to the place. Had a really nice lunch and can't wait to get back for a proper meal!! Interesting decor and well drilled staff. The setting is obviously very historical and the surrounding area is beautiful. Many thanks!

In the middle of nowhere, but obvious from miles around thanks to the bright yellow exterior, we had a fabulous stay here - a couple and 2 black labs - the dogs had their own towels and bowls - with biscuits provided too! The room was modern and bright with a comfy bed and lots of magazines and books, the... More

We had lunch here following the recommendation of a friend. Didn't really like the bright yellow and then seriously put off by the (lack of) welcome. "The food better be good" we thought. And it was! Faultless presentation, wonderful flavours ... Delightful. Staff need more training, woman behind the bar needs to cheer up. 5 star food, 3 star front... More

We stayed at the Gurnard's Head for one night whilst walking the coast path. The pub is pleasant enough, fairly charming though not quite what I was expecting from reviews or the website - it's a bit more rustic and rooms more shabby. Although the restaurant was busy and loud with lots of small children the food was good. Unfortunately... More

We stayed here for one night because we needed somewhere near Penzance and St Ives. We had a "small" double room and it certainly was small and we would not have wanted to have stayed in this room for more than one night. In general the hotel seems to have gone for a quaint old-fashioned feel with a mixed bag... More

We stayed in Penwith for our summer holiday this year and know the Zennor / coastal road area quite well. Having visited The Gurnard's Head last year we thought we'd pop back in for a quick drink whilst passing. First of all (and it needs mentioning)... the yellow... really makes it stick out but is a *little* garish in the... More

Having heard good reports about this eating place we turned up at lunch time. Service was extremely slow, food was good quality but portions were small and the bill was overly large. We were unimpressed with the wine selection. Overall the waitresses seemed uninterested in serving us and we won't be going back there.

This seems to have a high reputation locally. Empty when we arrived but soon filled up. Service very slow (two hours for three courses). Wrong drink brought and when challenged the waitress told me the original was off - not mentioned when I ordered it and based on her general attitude not true at all. Food was not top quality...
