A lovely two night stay on the winter deal which included a three course dinner. Great value. Great bar to have a drink at and sample the local beers. James was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the beers and wines. A really joy to have a chat with. The food was excellent - delicious restaurant food which would hold its... More

Bright yellow pub hotel in the middle of nowhere. Outstanding local food cooked to the highest standard, Friendly, welcoming staff and local customers that are glad to see visitors!! It's not somewhere you will just pass and drop in so make sure you look it out and go there even if it's just for a quick drink.

This vibrant yellow hotel on the landscape provides excellent quality local produce made into delicious meals complemented by a good wine list . We stayed for a couple of days but would happily return and bring our family members . The rooms were very comfortable ,warm and homely .This is a very understated hotel that is not pretentious .its dog... More

I stayed here very early 2015. It's miles from any town, reachable by taxi, car or beautiful coastal walk. We stayed in a lovely, golden central room overlooking the surprising busy entrance but the comings and goings were not intrusive, just gave a sense of life. Decor is that of an upmarket country inn. The food was beautiful including my... More

Had already stayed in one of their sister hotels so knew we would not be disappointed. Found staff friendly and helpful. Food was amazing but the service sometimes slow although this was not really an issue as you don't want to be rushed in this chilled and laid back atmosphere.

I visited the Gurnard's Head for the third time earlier this month as I was staying in the Landmark Trust down the road, and it was even better than I remember! We decided last minute that we were going to have dinner and so went in without a reservation but the staff were happy to accommodate! I had the duck... More

My partner and I took both mothers to the Gurnards head at Zennor on Sunday 22nd November for a special lunch. We had tried a few weeks before to get a Sunday lunch table but no luck so this time a special booking was made. 3 meat eaters and vegetarian – no great issues or so we thought. I had... More

If you want all the qualities of a country house hotel experience but don't care for some of the frills (and certainly not the prices) the Gurnards Head is a great place to stay in this lovely part of Cornwall. We stayed 4 nights there for a remarkably reasonable mid week offpeak half board rate. It was v hard to... More

Seven of us went for lunch and though the food was good when it eventually arrived, it took an aufully long time to come. The waitress was not a happy bunny. The restaurant didn't appear to be that busy. When we went back into the pub later to have a cup of tea we were ignored so left and went... More

Came to the Gurnard's Head for the first time in twenty years in search of lunch. We weren't expecting what we found. You certainly can't miss the old place these days, with its bright yellow livery! We were pleased to find the interior a little more relaxing, though busy and buzzing. Although we hadn't booked, we were welcomed warmly and... More
