I would highly recommend CocoCabanas! The huts are comfortable, and Jeff and Maria make you feel like family. It is only about 25 minutes from the airport but might as well be a million miles away because the stress just melts away as soon as you arrive. The main palapa is a fun place to gather, meet other guests, and... more

We stayed down the beach from CocoCabanas on our honeymoon but dined at the restaurant twice during our week long stay. Our first night we got in late and they not only stayed open to accommodate us but the food was top notch. It was exactly what I'd been craving for my first meal in Mexico. I had the fajitas... more

I' ve visited Cabanas twice last year... And I start to miss it again... Maria&Jeff will do everything that you wish even before you say it. Morning walks by the wild shouting ocean will fill you with energy for loooong time. And back in your air conditioned home you will dream about fresh breeze that accompanied your night sleep. STRONGLY... more

Cabana was dirty, the service marginal and the beach out front is a deathtrap for swimming. Sitting on the beach is also a hazard due to speeding trucks running up and down the beach. No warning signs, nothing to indicate there might be some danger swimming. Website is totally deceptive as if you are in some isolated paradise. Better bring... more

the cabanas themselves are nice. They are surrounded by concrete condos and other developments. Our host(s) were more like fellow vacationers, sleeping in daily and waiting around to be served by their own staff. In 5 years of travel in latin america, I have never stayed somewhere where the owner was so disconnected from the comfort and needs of his... more

In response to this review and the spouse’s review below titled “Know Before you Go” First and foremost Maria and I are conscientious hosts and we take all suggestions and complaints seriously. If we feel that a complaint is justified we will do everything in our power to make it right with the guest. However our perspective differs quite drastically...

Staying at CocoCabanas felt like a fun vacation with friends and a honeymoon-ish vacation with my sweetie depending on how we felt like utilizing their (eco-friendly!) accomodations. The open-air restaurant/bar serves as a gathering place for the 3 other cabana guests (usually other couples). Breakfast comes with your room so you can sip coffee, gorge yourself on huevos and fruit,... more

We went straight from our hectic lives to the airport and then... paradise. Coco Cabanas is picturesque in the extreme. The cabana bedrooms are upstairs with panels that open for a view of the Pacific and a delightful breeze. The bathrooms and living areas are downstairs. The showers are large with great water pressure and hot water all the time.... more

The cabanas were beautiful but this is no eco-paradise. -Grounds are surrounded by large concrete developments -Big Screen TV plays in the bar/restaurant palapa all day. -Unfriendly owner could care less about guests (other staff were friendly) -Cold Nescafe at breakfast and often had no fruit (despite nearby fruit stands) -Most electricity came from power grid (solar seems to be... more

CocoCabanas was a complete escape from a hectic life. The cabanas were clean and had all the conveniences, yet still kept a feel of being back in time and totally immerced in the environment around them. I slept to the sound of the ocean, I watched the wild life, and enjoyed local cuisine. The open bar/restaurant serves as a gathering... more
