Helpful, welcoming host. Good, simple room. Very good value. Barra itself was a diappointment, but staying here was a compensation. more

We reserved a week at this hotel but ended up leaving after the first night. The apparent owner, Marta, essentially kicked out our two friends at 10PM, after rudely shutting off the lights and then threatening to charge us double if our friends stayed longer. Her lame excuse, which she delivered through a maid, was that she didn't want noise... more

Dad says... My wife, son, and I arrived in Barra for the night to break up a trip from Boca de Tomatlan to Comala. The hotel was nice. It has a great common area on the roof that I would have liked to have sipped a beer on if we had stayed longer. The owners were nice in greeting us... more

We stayed at the Delfin for one week, the week before Easter. The hotel is clean, has an excellent, helpful, and very friendly staff, and was in a good location. The rooms were basic, but good size. They provided bath towels, soap, and beach/pool towels on request. Five gallon bottles of water were on each floor so that guests were... more

I have been going to the lovely Delfin for 20+ years and having just returned, am happy to say that the street noise is much less of a problem now that the karoake bar next door has permanently closed.( Frankly, if you can't stand a little noise you're in the wrong country to begin with.) Run by a German-Mexican couple... more

I love the Hotel Delfin. I've been there for several times and I am looking very much foreward to be there again. I have been looking around at the other hotels near by but there is no one you could compare with the Delfin. Not only that it's very cheap, very clean and all the people there are very nice... more

We chose this hotel based on positive reviews on this site, but were a little disappointed with the rooms. The atmosphere is nice for sure with the pool and roof patio and the breakfasts are great, but the rooms are quite basic (i.e. basic bedding, mediocre lighting, no sink plug, little other furniture, no place to leave bags, etc). Also... more

We had planned on staying a week here, but moved after 2 days to a much better hotel for less money. Unless you insist on being right downtown, I recommend the El Marquez de Santana instead. The Delfin is clean and has a small but nice pool, but due to its location in the middle of the noisy downtown district,... more

In Sept. a little photo of "laguna + beach" brought me - invited to Mexico by a friend in Guadalajara - down to Barra. Alone arrived in the afternoon sun I asked someone for a clean little Hotel.... and I was advised "...to go to the Delfin ... there is a german owner". Coming from Munich/Germany I found my desire... more
