To be fair the owner has only had the place 18 months. However, it's like staying at your Gran's in 1972!! It needs a lot of white paint, plenty of fresh carpet and a glazier could be kept busy for a while. Saying that, the linen was clean and the breakfast was excellent.

I had intended to take a holiday to Cornwall and very quickly decided to stay at St Benet’s Abbey. However on reading a recent review I had some initial concerns. In that respect I thought it only just to reflect my own opinions on my stay. Firstly the location I believe is ideal (I until recently was a resident of... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night and had a less than satisfactory experience. When checking in, we were shown to our room by one of the owners and their two year old child who proceeded to jump all over our bed after walking barefoot outside. The owner/ parent did little to discipline the child and let her... More

Great location and interesting history, definitely not an impersonal box to sleep in it offers much more than a normal hotel. Comfortable and well appointed rooms, great breakfast with plenty of choice. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts. The only negative was the breakfast room which could be more homely but I think it is still work in... More

We stayed here overnight as we went to a concert at the Eden Project, which is very nearby. We got a very warm and friendly welcome from JJ when we arrived and a quick tour before being shown personally to our room. The room was very comfortable with an en suite and tea and coffee facilities in the room. We... More

I reserved two nights at this bed and breakfast in order to see Elton John in concert at the Eden Project and then pay my respects to my husband's ashes which are scattered at Crackington Haven the next day. It seemed expensive at the time but was close to the venue so I duly agreed to the rate. Incidentally I... More

Came here for a few days rest, and have to say, this was one of the nicest places we have stayed at for many years. JJ and Lynne are great hosts, with nothing too much trouble. The rooms are lovely, and the house itself is sheltered from the road alongside by trees, which negate the noise of traffic passing. JJ... More

We were looking for a central place to stay in Cornwall for a few days and found this bed and breakfast on line. It is located in Lanivet which is central Cornwall. From there we were able to take day trips to the various attractions and the coast. The property is an old Abbey and the building has lots of... More

Lovely hotel, very old with an amazing history. The owner, John, is happy to explain the history and can show guests round the ruined chapel. The decor is in keeping with the period of the property whilst providing all the amenities expected. We slept in a very comfortable 4 poster bed. Breakfast was good and the location is within easy...
