This is not a B&B for a romantic getaway. The room we stayed in (Room 2) was tiny and the bathroom was literally fashioned out of the cupboard! The bathroom itself was functional - we were pleasantly surprised that the shower was powerful. The walls between the rooms are relatively thin, so when other guests have their TVs on or... More

Such a pity that you did not mention any of the negative comments above to us during your Bank Holiday weekend stay! We could have rectified so much of that. TV was simply retuned & we could have suggested using the chair for the dressing table mirror. Your main source of irritation, the 5 year old squeaky bed (which we... More

An extremely quiet little village location. No streetlights, no footpaths, no attractions; but still very quaint. We stayed here to enable us to visit nearby Monkey World. The accomodation was charming, and the hosts very welcoming. The quality and quantity of food was very good. The room itself was en-suite, and was a good standard, although perhaps slightly smaller than... More

We were travelling across the south of England and decided to stay one night near Lulworth Cove. We are so pleased that we chose Janet Mitchell's Highfield B&B. The room was beautiful and the location in a very small village was wonderful. Janet and her husband were perfect hosts. We would love to stay again.

We had a lovely stay at Highfield Bed and Breakfast. The proprietor was friendly and welcoming and went out of her way to make us feel at home. The breakfasts were always delicious and piping hot (try the marmalade it's delicious!), the room was clean and tidy and the property itself was well situated for Lulworth Cove, Monkey World, the... Highfields sits at the traditional rather than stylish end of the market. It is in the hamlet of Coombe Keynes, which is conveniently located for Lulworth Cove, Monkey World and other attractions, but has no local shops or pub. It's an easy 10 minute drive into Wareham for lots of dining options. Our room was at the front of the... More

Pleased you had a good stay BUT I'm surprised that you thought the less than 12 months old kingsize bed & mattress "SAGGY"! We've had so many good comments about that same bed. Also I must point out that we have excellent pubs & restaurants within 5 minutes drive of here in Wool & Lulworth. Most guests do not go... More

Highfield is comfortable, clean and has a welcome feel. I felt my room was a trifle small for a couple, but was ideal for me., and it was en suite. Janet and her husband were very friendly and kind, and breakfast was perfect. It was lovely to have a comfortable lounge to sit in during the evening, made all the... More

Clean quiet B&B in a very quiet village with a nice country feel. Helpful pleasant welcoming hosts. Enjoyed nicely cooked breakfast with a flexible attitude to choice. Ideally located for local places of interest, own transport required Bedrooms up one flight of stairs but assistance available if required. Comfortable lounge/dining room on ground floor ideal if weather is inclement. Dog... More

We arrived very tired after a long journey to a friendly couple who made us feel very welcome. The rooms were clean with towels ready, coffee/tea facilities and the views from the bedrooms far beat going to stay in any of those premier lodge type places. The morning breakfast was fantastic with service at its best, nothing was too much... More

Village very quiet. Well not a village, more a hamlet! A handful of houses, most with thatched roofs. and a Red Telephone box. ...and thats it! For me, I would love to have had a village pub, but as we there only two nights it was not an issue. Great location for exploring Lulworth Cove, Lulworth Castle, Durdle Door, Monkey... More
