We spent three nights in this lovely cottage. The hosts are really nice and helpful and gave us all kind of tips to make the most of our visit to Lulworth. Our room was spacious and nicely decorated and the breakfast they prepared for us were really good. If you are looking for a small place in a great location... More

April thatch is a beautiful place to stay and perfectly located for driving to Durdle Door or Lulworth Cove. The hosts can offer invaluable advice and maps on where to go, how much of your day to spend in various spots and places to eat in those locations. This was immensely useful and greatly appreciated. Its definitely a place to... More

April Thatch was disappointing,we never saw Carole although she was there, the room was clean and light, but on our arrival it felt cold and damp, and we had to ask to have the heating on, the bathroom radiator was lukewarm so the towels were never dry, there was no hairdryer. Breakfast offered cereal, but no fruit, and the cooked breakfast portions were... More

We contest and are upset by this review for the following reasons. Carole met Chris at the gate along with our puppy for along chat about dog training etc and photography. Chris mentioned that his wife had a bad heart and suffered rather from the cold. The heating was put on for the first time this season that evening and... More

A truly lovely, pristine and stylish B&B!! All the tips and advice we were given were invaluable often over a very decent breakfast (including some home grown produce!) It had it all, a great location, very comfortable, impeccably clean and friendly hosts. Just bear in mind one of the rooms isn't en-suite. Would definately recommend and would love to return!

April Thatch is a peaceful rural thatched cottage set in the quiet and pretty hamlet of Coombe Keynes just a few minutes inland from Lulworth Cove and the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. It is in an ideal situation to stay for exploring the coast, the Isle of Purbeck and surrounding areas of Dorset. For walkers there are numerous stunning walks in the area. The cottage is grade 2 listed and parts are thought to date back to the 16 hundreds with a thatched roof and some cob walls. It is surrounded by the garden, much wildlife with rolling fields and woods all around. Inside is simple with white walls, wooden floors and contemporary paintings. ... more   less
