We were there recently and I must say, this is a really great B&B! Chris (the owner) is very nice and prepares an amazing breakfast (continental) and gave us valuable tips where to hike, eat etc. Highly recommended, we definitely will go back!

Could not wish for a more friendly and welcoming host. Splendid en-suite room with appealing furniture and decoration. Complimentary tea/coffee and toiletries in the room were nice. Choice of breakfasts, we chose the continental option for our two night stay which included cereal, toast, croissants, preserves, tea, coffee, fruit and yogurt, which we enjoyed very much. The area is a... More

A peaceful location, quiet and appealing, at the end of a lane of thatched cottages. Our host was warm and welcoming. We stayed in the standard room. The bed was very comfortable and the room well equipped with TV, internet, tea-making etc. It had a lovely view down the lane and to the woods beyond. The adjacent bathroom was well... More

Spent one night here last month. Even though Moreton is a nice little town and the house is clean and well kept, the stay was WAY too expensive for the kind of service. Instead of towels (like the usual white towels you get in hotels and b&bs, usually washed at high temperatures) we were given 2 coloured beach towels. Instead... More

A remote location with only one restaurant fairly nearby. Delightful walk to nearby ford, amidst peaceful woodland setting. The room was spacious with a very nice ensuite. Although a cooked breakfast was supposedly available on request, this was not the case and even scrambled eggs proved problematic! The room and bathroom were left untouched throughout our stay.

Stayed at Mallard House for 3 nights at the end of July. Chris was a really pleasant hostess. The room we had had an en-suite and was spacious and clean. The whole stay was enjoyable. The continental breakfast was good - if you want a full English, just tell Chris when you book. The location is remote and in "Old"... More

Charming village environment, clean and comfortable rooms, and a kind, friendly host with lots of good advice about the best sites and restaurants in the area to visit. Our room looked out onto a scene of nibbling rabbits and wandering geese, in a scene out of a Beatrix Potter story. Few people know that Lawrence of Arabia died on his... More

Spotlessly clean and comfortable accommodation in a small very quiet village. We've enjoyed both the continental and the full English breakfasts, They were excellent in quality and quantity. The owner is very welcoming, friendly, and has lots of local knowledge. This is the third year we've stayed at the Mallard, and it's been consistently top notch. Don't miss out on... More
