We were in Dorchester last week to visit Thomas Hardy's cottage and arrived before the pub was opened for business, but they kindly let us in and helped us to call for a taxi to the cottage. And even though lunch service hadn't started, they very nicely helped us prepare sandwiches for our picnic. Super friendly service, very kind and... More

Stayed here in June in a small group of friends, as we were fishing very locally. The rooms were very clean and well equipped, although being right next to the station you will hear the odd train - this didnt bother us at all. The pub offered a good range of well kept beer, and had an extensive menu as... More

We went for a last minute dinner here last night (26th may) It's a quirky family run pub! It had a lovely enclosed garden in the rear with lots of equipment for the children to play with (they didn't want to leave) The food was so tasty and plentiful! Having a burger/ steak an ale pie/ chicken and chips which... More

Large family-friendly pub catering for the undiscerning over 70s. Old-fashioned (outdated) menu from 30 years ago, which wouldn't be so bad if the kitchen had one iota of competence. They don't. With the Wise Man, the Blue Vinnie and the Countryman all within 15 mins there is no excuse for visiting this place unless you're simply hungry and in a... More

We have eaten here on many occasions over the years and the food has always been good country pub food. Roasts on the weekend are excellent and plentiful. The ambience is good and particularly interesting to steam train buffs as loads of pictures and books to browse. Service which is commented on by others at weekends has been good, however... More

We recently stayed at The Frampton Arms in Moreton - great location for visiting Dorchester, Weymouth, Wareham, Corfe Castle, Swanage. We booked the twin en suite with colour TV, tea/coffee making facilities and mini bar and were delighted, it was comfortable, warm and extremely clean. Loved that we had quilts and not blankets and pillows had protectors - breakfast was... More

Menu looked good, conservatory dining room looked OK. Things were busy so we ordered as soon as we arrived to make sure we were served quickly we waited and waited and waited it took 45 minutes to arrive after we reminded the staff that we had been forgotten! Our food did arrive and it was good quality. At the end... More

Just celebrated a 70th birthday party, only three words to describe the Frampton Arms and the staff. Simply The Best. The owner John and his delightful wife Jeanette made us so welcome and ALL of the staff ensured that this special evening was one we would always remember. The food was excellent, in my opinion, the best in Dorset and... More
