In spite of a beautiful location on the island of Hamnoy, and attractive rorbus and boats renting, the service quality is poor and bedding uncomfortable. During our stay, WiFi worked only in the reception desk. The value for money is thus pretty poor. Moreover, mind the the building work of the tunnel of Hamnoy, the road can remained blocked between... More

We stayed in Eliassen Rorbuer for 2 nights in august 2014. We informed the reception of our late arrival on the first night, so they helpfully prepared the room during the day and left the key inside for us to find, with the door open so we could get in with no fuss. Nice little touch of helpfulness. The rorbu... More

At first, we had booked a room at the Rorbuer. It was very cosy. The staff were extremely helpful in giving us directions and answering any queries we had. The kitchen and bathroom were shared but maintained to a high level of cleanliness. They do have a computer with internet access, which was an added bonus. We were able to... More

Perfect location just by the see with an unique view into the bay and high mountains. Cabins looks very old from outside but are modernly refurnished inside including modern kitchen. Check cabins website for photos of individual cabins.

We stayed for five nights at Eliassen in a deluxe cabin. The location is excellent with fabulous views of the mountains. The cabin was very well equipped with oven, fridge and dishwasher. The beds were comfortable and the surrounding was quite and relaxing. If you are staying at Eliassen, I would recommend trying the restaurant. They have some good local... More

The cabin is equipped with oven, induction heater and all kind of cooking utensils. The cabin is just a few metres to the sea and stunning mountain view is just outside the window. The location is good if you have a car, just 5-10 minutes drive to Reine and 25 minutes drive to A. The room itself is clean. Lovely... More

Eliassen Rorbuer was a great hostel. Clean, friendly, free tea and coffee in the 'free stuff' cupboard and the room I stayed in (room 3) oozed charm. Don't come here though if you expect luxury, only if you really enjoy the romantic and homely feel of being sheltered against the rain in one of the most stunning locations in Europe.... More

We recently stayed in Cabin #23 at the Eliassen Rorbuer. Cozy and warm upon arrival, the space was generous for the two of us. The views over the water/mountains were lovely and the property is just a stone's throw from the main part of Reine and extremely close to the ferry which was welcomed after a long day of travelling.... Good views, good quality, nice and helpful person in the reception. Superior two person cabin was awesome. It is a great point to start hikings around, specially from Å and Sørvågen. The ones from Reine are a bit more extreme, but for experienced hikers it is a perfect location.

It's listed on Tripadvisor as an outstanding budget choice. It was cheaper by a significant amount than the other place we stayed in the Lofoten Islands (Nyvagar Rorbuer in Kabelvag ( which costs about $400 to $200 here. However, Nyvagar Rorbuer was very comfortable with great views and included an outstanding breakfast, sheets, and no 300NOK clean up fee). But... More

Dear Sirs, Thank you for sharing your opinion with us. Eliassen Rorbuer is a resort with the longest tradition and majority of our cabins are over 100 years old. They were built in different times by different fishermen, so the location and size of each cabin was based on the budget of fisherman that owned it a 100 years ago.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
There is a place on Earth where the Sun never sets, the Northern lights never cease to amaze, and the landscape changes constantly, the wind never stops blowing and the people always smile. These are the Lofoten. Eliassen Rorbuer is a holiday resort with fishermen’s cabins, enjoying the longest tradition in the tourist industry in Lofoten. We offer accommodation in a traditional fishermen’s cabin camp, in the most beautiful western part of the Lofoten Islands. It is situated on the tiny island of Hamnøy in Western Lofoten, the Moskenes municipality. The island is the last one in the archipelago to have the road link. Currently the Lofoten Islands are mainly associated with fishing, which takes place from January to April, alongside the entire archipelago. All of our cabins are new renovated and got a new floor, kitchen, bathroom and furnishings. Welcome to refreshed Eliassen Rorbuer! ... more   less
