What a place! In the center of Puebla, one of the oldest buildings in town. Charming, big rooms. Lovely courtyard, roof terrace with view to the volcano. The restaurant served the best mole I have ever tasted. The only minus: the sofa groups outside the rooms unfortunately invited certain people to sit and chat loudly until 4am, just outside our... Located just a half block from the beautiful Puebla zocolo where you'll find fountains, the city's principal cathedral, and within easy walking distance to the Parian Market and other fine shops in the City of Puebla. Built as a Jesuit monastery in 1698, this well-cared-for building has served as a hotel and restaurant since the middle of the 19th century.... More

Built in 1865....so don't expect a plush hotel. We loved it! When we arrived from the airport, the taxi driver dropped us off on the street, pointed and said "That's your hotel." So we carried our luggage half a block. When we entered, a very pleasant young man was happy to take us up on the oldest working elevator in... More

The Colonial Hotel in Puebla Mexico is an great place to stay while in Puebla. Just two blocks off the Zocalo in the zona historica. The staff are very good, helpful and were very patient with my ' espanol paquito' . Beds were little firm for our liking. I would stay here again.

We stayed here for three weeks, and were given a high-ceilinged, spacious room with a small balcony overlooking the pedestrian walkway at the front of the hotel. There was always plenty of hot water, and no flooding after a shower. Adequate storage, though not abundant. Good room service. Wifi worked reliably. The staff willingly operated the tiny antique elevator to... More

Colonial hotel in an excellent location. All the major attractions of the center of the city are easy to reach by foot. The rooms are tasteful decorated and some have nice small balconies to the street, where you can enjoy sometimes street artists. The hotel offers also free parking, although it did cost me some trouble to find the entrance... More

Stayed here on tour. Beautiful little hotel and so authentic. So many little cafes, laneways, churches to explore around. Room was cool and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Would stay again and recommend to others.

Love this hotel and return every year for Dec 12. This is a former Jesuit monastery in the historic district. The restaurant is excellent. Try the mole! Short walk to plaza, markets, churches, cafes, etc. if you speak a little Spanish, the staff can give you helpful hints for off the beaten path day trips.

Great location in historical town center. Wi-fi available in some rooms and in reception area. In an old restored building. Elevator is ancient but adds to the charm. Bathrooms could use some upgrading. Restaurant Staff were curt and not helpful if you did not speak Spanish. There appeared to be many breakfast choices but we were given scrambled eggs and... More

Our breakfast list has over forty options and our full menu is also available all they long, but breakfast is not included in our rooms price. This information is published on our web site. If you were served scrambled eggs, I guess you reserved thru a travel agency (group or individual), and the travel agency chose and paid scrambled eggs... More

The food was very good, and naturally cost a little more in the hotel than in some cheaper restaurants but was not expensive. Contrary to another review they have a lovely elevator. But you might prefer one of the beautiful grand staircases. I had two rooms, on two separate stays. One was like a museum exhibit of wealthy 18th century... More
