We just enjoyed a quick 24 hour trip to Puebla and found the Hotel Colonial a perfect place to stay. Good value, very centrally located and in such a beautiful old setting - a former convent. We will go back, for sure.

I have stayed here at least a dozen times over the years and have never been disappointed. The location is perfect, the rooms are wonderful (except for a handful of interior rooms that have no windows). The food is great, the prix fixe lunch at under 10 dollars is extremely hearty and the mole is some of the best in...

Stayed here for 1 night, passing through Puebla, based on others good reviews. The only room they had available was 795 pesos, for 2 twin beds, however they could be moved together quite easily.
The building dates back to the 1600s, and has an amazing, old style elevator with an attendant. However, there are occasional times when an attendant does...

Charming hotel, excellent location (2 minutes away from the city main square / cathedral /shopping streets / restaurants), quite large rooms, clean, nice restaurant, safe in the room, good value for money. The balcony door leaves a small gap, therefore it can be a little noisy during the day. No heating – in December it was a little cold outside...

I've stayed in many hotels in Mexico, colonial and modern. I was surprised by the spaciousness of the rooms. My room was a double--two double beds, but each with its own bench, a large dresser. I was with a group of 11 total. One of the rooms was a triple: two doubles and then a balcony room for the third...

Some could look at a bit of peeling paint on the ceiling and call it old. I looked at it and wondered which century the original paint was applied!
If yours' is a visit to see historic Puebla, the Hotel Colonial will certainly be part of every story you tell. The rooms are adequate, clean, and well appointed considering the...

I stayed for 2 nights in this hotel for a Puebla sightseeing trip. The hotel is very conveniently located (1 block from the main square/Zocalo) and the rooms are really pretty. It’s a converted nunnery and they did a great job in conserving the old atmosphere while at the same time creating very comfortable and airy rooms.
I went in...

We stayed as a group of five for three mid week nights. Our spacious rooms overlooked the square and the Admin Building of the Universidad, so there was some expected noise and bustle from early in the morning. One of our rooms had a vast mezzanine which suited our needs well, and saved us booking an extra room for a...

Hotel Colonial is a wonderful historic place that dates back to 1698 when it was a Jesuit monastery. Our room was large with high ceilings and balcony that faced the cathedral. It was great to get the fresh air and be able to watch all what was going on in the small square, but noisy at night as can be...
