We stayed just here just one night when the Colonial (our favorite) was full. We thought it was fine and a good value for low price. It's older with rooms surrounding a central courtyard, but lacks the charm of the Colonial. Furnishings are blah and worn. Beds fine. Think we were on second or third floor. Shower was good! Breakfast... more

We stayed here for a few days in mid Jan, 2010. We had room #125 which had a living room area with a coffee maker, fridge , couch, loveseat and chair and table with 3 chairs, The adjacent bedroom had a fan, 2 double beds, 1 single bed and a TV. The ceilings were about 15' high, there were lots... more

We have been there in November. And as other people said before, we got a discount by showing the Lonely Planet. And it was freezing cold at night. We slept under two blankets and were still freezing. We prefered and got a room in the newer part in the back yard. The room was dark and a little bit smelly... more

I have stayed at the Hotel Imperial five times now, once in 2006 for ten days, and twice each for a couple of days in 2007 and 2008, on my way to and from Oaxaca. I am 67 and travel by myself, but have never had any security concerns there. The staff has always been friendly and helpful about taking... more

It seems like we must have been at a different hotel than the previous writer. We loved the Hotel Imperial although they also goofed up our e-mail reservation. Despite not having our reservation they took care of us right away, especially when I gave them the name of the woman who had e-mailed us about our room. A room was... more

The crowded, noisy "lobby" should have been a tip off--that plus the vacuous desk clerk who had no idea we had a reservation. I had the correspondence with me proving we were expected. Finally, he shuffled off to locate someone who could take us to our "room." It was closet sized, required a leap of about a foot to enter... more

We stayed at this hotel with a mission group of several youth. The kids were able to wonder around this part of town with little worry by us adults. My husband and I loved the room. The beds were a bit hard for my taste. However, I loved the open-air courtyard in the middle. Some of the kids stayed in... more

This hotel is cheap and ....cheap. It cost 27 euros a night which for our first night at a hotel in Mexico we didn't think was that bad. The rooms are old and worn (like most we ended up staying in in Mexico) but it was clean. It is cheap and it also includes breakfast (VERY basic, I wouldn't even... more
