A friend and I stayed at La Casona de los Vitrales during a three evening visit to Zacatecas in June 2007 -- the hotel is closer than described to the City center, less than a block away. Our room was excellent, very clean and spacious. It's a very safe hotel with easy access everywhere in the city, there is a lovely small park right in front of the hotel. The staff was extremely attentive and welcoming. The building entrance is down a 'callejon' (narrow alley) that is so brightly painted, lovely flowers and so inviting. They also have large conference facility for group events. And while there is no restaurant it was not an issue because the hotel next door had a lovely restaurant. The hotel had nice outdoor seating benches in the callejon where we sat in the evenings listening to the unique sounds of this beautiful city. Student groups go down the callejons in the early evenings with bands to celebrate life -- such lovely sounds of life and activity!! We were in Zacatecas... more
