Loved my stay at this hostel! The staff was very friendly and had great suggestions for local places to try out (and to avoid). The patio on the roof was beautiful and had great views of the city at all hours. Wifi is included but was a bit touchy as you have to use different connections based on the floor... More

I had some treoidations about staying here, as I had never stayed in a hostel before. I need not have worried. The owner or manager was incredibly welcoming and helpful, as was the rest of the staff. My private room was small, expected at the pittance I was paying. Likewise, the bathroom with plenty of hot water and water pressure.... More

Best location in town: just behind the Cathedral, surrounded by many eateries. All the museums are at walking distance. The neighborhood appears to be safe and quiet at night. Many parking lots are available at a short distance. We asked a private room with its private bath: the room was on the small size and quite functional with its closet,... More

We stayed here for a few days, and perhaps we were lucky with the room (a double), but we had the most wonderful views of the cathedral and town. The free Wi-fi was good, although we found the lack of power points in our room meant we had to charge it in the TV mezzanine area (which wasn't a bad... More

The location is very good, a couple of blocks from the cathedral, and near about anything you'll need to see in town. The staff was good. They are indeed open 24 hrs a day as I arrived at 5 am. The inside of the hostel is well decorated. They have 3 great sofas, in the TV room. Now the not... More

We really liked this hostel. We only stayed one night, as we had to move on, but we only paid 200 pesos for a love;y private room, with stunning views of the cathedral. There are loads of books in the book exchange, a beautiful roof terrace and the kitchen was clean. The bed was very comfy and the owners were... More

We were here 4 nights. This was our first room in weeks which had a window! It sounds silly, but the budget digs prior to this were pretty dark. We had french doors that opened onto a balcony overlooking a quite alley. The room itself was fine. It had a desk and a closet-type storage area. The shared bathrooms were... More

A filthy, dirty hostel. The only 2 bathrooms are extremely dirty. Beds are dirty. They didn't even give me any sheet or pillow case. You just basically sleep on the dirty bed and pillow that they have never washed. I got bitten by bed bugs that night. It's cheap but there are a lot of cheap hostels in Mexico that... More

It's a bit strange to read all these excellent reviews, because I didn't like this hostel at all. Good: price, location, free wifi, rooftop terrace. Bad: dorm felt depressing, sheets smelt, there is a disco next door making extremely loud music until 4am, no breakfast, only 1 hour of free computer use a day. I left 2 days earlier than... More

My boyfriend and I went to Zacatecas last June. We stayed at Villa Colonial Hostel for 2 nights. We payed 300 pesos (about 23 USD) for both and got a room with 2 double beds and a private bathroom. The place used to be a house and it is cozy and rustic. The hosts are really nice and they will... More
