Hostal San Fransiskuni offers a nice and cheap accomodation in traditional colonial style, located in Morelia historical centre, at only 5 minutes from the cathedral and the 'Casa de las Artesanias'.We are located in the historic center of Morelia, it gives you the opportunity to travel around pink stone alleys and romantic walk in the end is an unforgettable experience ... We hope to see you next time you visit Morelia.
Was here during Dia de Muertos. This is another converted hotel into a hostel. The dorm room had a weird setup where there was a side door that you had to squeeze through to get to the other side where there was another dorm, but a bathroom as well. The room and everywhere else was clean. Nice rooftoop terrace. The kitchen was only available at night (the owners live on the premises). Solid internet. Breakfast was fresh fruit and local sweet bread (pan dulce), which was delicious but light. Water was more lukewarm than hot. Great location - close to everything in city center. Use the local colectivos to get any place further - they are colored and numbered (for example, Cafe 1). Near to a local market for produce and other things. Was perfect as a base for dia de muerto activites.…

We booked a double room on the top floor, from where you get wonderful views and beautiful morning light. Even though the rooms are small, to us they felt super cozy and charmingly mexican. Breakfast was nice, lots of fruits and coffee, though you might want to arrive earlier in the morning. Laura was a great host, who takes a good care of her house! Morelia is also a beautiful town, and we'd definitely recommend to stay here!

I stayed here for 3 nights. It's in a very central part of Moreila, close to the cathedral and other attractions. The manager is lovely, English is limited but helpful. The wifi was quick when it worked, they were having issues with it cutting it a lot when I was there so hopefully that gets solved. There is a nice rooftop area to relax and good few common areas. I was the one person during my stay as it seems Moreila is dead in early October. They and I would have liked me people but what can you do. If I came back if I would stay here again.

The breakfast wasn't good. They were out of city map when I asked for. The staff was not so helpful. They tried. The room was locked when I came one night very late. I have to wake up the attendant. He struggled to open the door without a key. Apparently, he could open with the stick sticking inside by peeking his head and heands through the window. They were not at all busy. So did not find any life in the hostel. Probably, bad time to visit Morelia. May be when there are people this could be a fun place. The hostel is big. I like their terrace/roof. The common area/dining area is nice to sit and relax and browse the internet. The location is perfect and very close to the Cathedral. I am not sure if I would like to stay here again in the future.

The hotel is in a great location. Right in the center, in walking distance to all sights and little shops and places to heat. Security is good and the staff very very friendly and helpful. All rooms (incl. the bathrooms) are clean and breakfast very tasty. Unfortunately I was almost alone at the hotel and therefor can't say much on the social aspect. But I can recommend this hostel to anyone.

One of the best points about this hostal was the beautiful and spacious roof terrace with views over the centre of the city. The rooms were clean and comfortable, however there only seemed to be one bathroom that was shared by most of the guests. The owner was really friendly and eager to help in any way possible. Excellent location, right in the centre, within walking distance to bars, restaurants and places of interest. The breakfast included was quite basic, just fruit and sweet bread with tea or coffee.

This was my first visit to a hostal in many years, and it was such a wonderful introduction to common sense living. My husband and I, both seniors, and enthusiatic travellers were delighted with the price, the cleanliness, the lovely lady who ran the place and the wonderful breakfasts that she made for everyone. The hostal is well located in the historical district, and we had a top floor room with views over the city.

Only stayed one night but had lots of nice chats with the lovely landlady- she was extremely helpful and even let my friends (not staying at the hostel) use the locker room for a very small fee ($20) room was simple but served it's purpose, great roof terrace, bathrooms seemed to be in short supply though. Fruit and bread stuff for breakfast- nothing fancy but gets your day started.

I liked this hostel - clean everywhere, decent mattresses, located in the historic centre but a reasonably quiet street. The owner is a fruit enthusiast, which means a good breakfast. Morelia is Mexico's best city, at least for this gringo!

Great location and family atmosphere. Simply furnished but everything worked. The dorm has 4 comfy beds, plenty of space and ensuite bathroom. I couldn't hear any noise from the street. Breakfast with fruits and sweet bread included. Ask anything to Mrs Laura, she will give you great tips on where to eat, how to move around the region and what's on in Morelia.
