I was in Morelia for the film festival. Although Rose was not personally there to greet us when we checked in, she did everything she could beforehand to make the process seamless. Lupe, the housekeeper, was there to help us move in and get us settled - she is an absolute sweetheart. The location is perfect, right in the city... More

Within minutes of walking through the front doors of Casona Rosa I knew I was home. I was greeted by the owner, Rose and a gorgeous entryway filled with flowers, plants and local art. Once led to my room, the Monarcha Suite, I was able to catch my breath from my days of travel. When I was ready to explore,... More

We are very thankful that we picked Casa Rose for our stay in Morelia. We stayed over the holidays in 2013 and we felt like we were a very welcome guest in Rose's Casa. In fact, it work well to just treat it as our own and feel relaxed in the common areas in particular the kitchen. Our family (two... More

What perfect timing to hear from you as I am in the midst of setting up Christmas decorations for this year......and so I can't help thinking about how lovely it was last year having you and your family here. Your children made our Christmas so special. I still have my toy gift front and center in the Michoacan wooden toy... More

Stumbled upon this place by chance. Lucky me. Quiet but just two blocks from the city center. Great patio. beautiful rooms, each one a bit different from the other. Small place, so people actually know who you are and what you want. Very friendly. I was in Michoacan for Dia de Muertos and Rose helped a lot to get me... More

My husband & I just spent 5 nights at Casona Rosa! A very charming B&B with a charming owner, Rose! Great staff & service! Wonderful art throughout the B&B. Really enjoyed our stay there! Easy walking distance to just about anywhere in historical centro...great location! Day of the Dead celebrations were everywhere!! An easy, quick 45 minute dive to Patzcuaro... More

Rose is a warm, kind, caring and professional woman. She is attentive and responsive as a host from start to finish. Her responses to my (countless!) emails were always prompt and very helpful. The true love and respect she has for Mexico and its culture is evident not only in her support of local artists and the arts but in... More

My husband Ernesto and I spent a marvelous birthday weekend in Morelia where we fell in love with the city after many marvelous experiences inspired by Rose Calderone, innkeeper of our boutique hotel, Casona Rosa. She arranged to have a jazz singer sing Besame Mucho on the eve of my birthday and placed me on a hotel balcony for fireworks... More

For the last several years, I have ONLY stayed at La Casona Rosa. Every time I go (and I go three or four times a year), this lovely small posada (5 suites) is a home away from home. The staff has changed for the better--Lupe, the housekeeper, is a total gem and Mireya will bend over backward to make your... More

Last week we stayed in the Frida Kahlo suite at Casona Rosa. We’ve stayed at Cason Rosa before... it's our go-to place in Morelia... but never in that particular suite. It’s our new favorite! Two lovely bedrooms — beautifully appointed — and tons of light. Connected to the bigger bedroom is a really nice bathroom which looks brand new. I... More

There are three things that make Casona Rosa a can’t miss place to stay; The property, Rose, and Lupe. The property is perfectly located, 3-6 block walking distance from the center zone, great shopping, great churches and Lu Restaurant. DEFINITELY eat there! It’s creative fine dining at ridiculously affordable prices. Both our meals were terrific! The property is good size... More
