First class accommodation in a welcoming house. We concur with all informative reviews eg thoughtful facilities including guests' fridge, wine cooler, glasses etc. We had 2 nights' stay on the Island for family business reasons. Perhaps it might help to state that on the Island there are touring caravan parks and, given it is a major UK sailing centre and... More

We have just returned from 2 nights at Leeward House. Jo was the perfect host, welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean and Jo's breakfasts are wonderful! We definitely plan on returning

From the moment we booked to leaving on Sunday, Jo was the perfect host. So welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We are both vegan and she catered to our... More

For years the only thing wrong with Mersea was the lack of good accommodation, so we are seriously glad that Jo and Kevin opened Leeward House around three years ago. In a quiet setting just yards from the shore the house is light, stylish and spotlessly clean. Our bedroom and bathroom were spacious, with a really roomy shower cubicle. The... More

My husband booked us into Leeward House as a surprise weekend break, so I wasn't involved in the booking. However, when we arrived I didn't need to introduce myself - Jo already knew my name. From the moment we stepped inside it was clear that everything in the house had been chosen for its quality. The décor throughout is stylish,... More

From the moment the front door opened to us leaving the following morning everything was perfect. The rooms are decorated and maintained to the highest standards. There were lots of lovely additional touches; the snacks in the lobby, fresh milk in the downstairs fridge, nice toiletries in the bathroom....I could go on!! The breakfast was superb; especially the selection of... More
