The hotel is very charming on the outsie, but.... Room twenty one is a suite with a sitting area, small kitchen, small bedroom and ample bathroom which has been modernized. The remaining parts of the suite, although very clean, need to be modernized as well. Breakfast was plentifull and the reception staff was warm and friendly. Our biggest problem was... More

Gorgeous tile work and metal sculptures everywhere. Within walking distance from the San Pedro Mall and the Cinimas. Quaint rooms, wonderful breakfast. We stayed in room number three, small but no screens on the windows, so we had to keep the bathroom and bedroom windows closed the whole time to keep out the numerous Mosquitos which made it pretty stuffy... We arrived here from La Fortuna on our way out of Costa Rica and stayed over for our flight the next day. From the street, the hotel looked closed. But around back through the security gate we found a welcoming little lobby. The employees there didn't seem to speak English but we got by with our intermediate level Spanish. San... More

Beautiful, clean, astonishing view! Good breakfast and great price. It is not luxury but it's so pretty! If you're looking for an exotic experience, this is it, if you want comfort this is not a good choice. The hotel is very basic, but is so beautiful that is worth it.

Great location right next to the UCR in the best island of green Pura Vida in San José. My room had a great balcony overlooking the university grounds and I have never felt more like in the nature of Costa Rica while still being right in San José with good access to anything. San Pedro is my favorite area of... More

This is a very nice hotel, affordable, and centrally located. It is close to the University of Costa Rica main campus and other education centers. However, it is close to a busy road, so expect a bit of noise and traffic at peak hours of the day. Rooms are comfortable and basic. Gardens are very nice, with interesting sculptures and... More

Rooms are spacious, nicely decorated, and clean. Lots of flowers and ceramics are on the grounds. The staff is very helpful in planning trips out of San Jose and they allow you to store luggage while you are gone. It is a nice location near the university, Pops ice cream store, and San Pedro Mall. Krakovia is a nice restaurant... More

Good morning sir. We think all this was a misunderstanding. The food and beer you are talking about was already open and started, and because another misunderstanding we thought you left your room and were not coming back. So we thought it was better to dispose the food. We really apologize for this. We even gave you 10000 colones to... More

The sculptured birds and tastefully landscaped grounds made studying for my Spanish classes actually enjoyable. The staff are particularly helpful. Kenneth helped me with my homework and Oscar planned excursions for my husband and his brother. We upgraded to the superior room because it included a hair dryer, but the hotel only owns two. However, the superior room also has... More

Pros: cleaner than most, spacious, decently well-equipped, friendly staff, comfortable beds. Cons: poor room lighting, poor internal decorations, prices don't include taxes, small TVs, small beds, rooms not very well ventilated (thus developing a funny smell, not too bothersome though).
