We enjoyed our stay here. The views from the rooms are wonderful as the hotel is on a cliff top. The beach is very close or if you like walking, its on the coast path, which is not too difficult walking or you can walk miles along the cliffs. Relaxing. The food was very good and a nice choice.

The hotel is wonderfully situated above Hope Cove with rooms that have lovely views over the sea scape. It's a bit old fashioned in decor, especially in the public areas, almost like a refined retirement home! But the service is equally old fashioned, that is, superb. Nothing is too much trouble. Our bedroom had a balcony overlooking the cove, and... More

Overall an excellent family owned hotel, clean with above average service and hospitality. The only problem was in regard to one meal where the main course of fish was cold which was quickly rectified. Overlooking the bay it has very good views and for those with mobility problems it has 5 rooms on the ground floor. Not the easiest place... More

3rd visit and booked for next year . The building is well outdated but everything works and cleanliness is very good . The service is impeccable and helpful and the food of a good standard and plenty of it , including the sweet trolley weighed down with cholesterol....! I give it 4 because the view from most rooms and the... More

Back home unfortunately after another great stay. The weather was excellent which meant we could sit on the balcony and take in the amazing view. The staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble for them. Sarah & William the owners are the most friendly and hard working people you could wish for, they run a excellent hotel which... This was our second stay at The Cottage Hotel. Check in was quick and easy. We had a sea view room without balcony and the view was one you'd never get tired of. The room was large and comfortable and included tea & coffee making facilities and also a hairdryer. Plenty of choice for breakfast and an excellent 5 course... More

Wow. Truly dog friendly, wonderful food, very friendly & helpful staff, picturesque location. Many fellow guests return every year. We have already booked for next year. We booked very late so knowingly had the last room at the back right over the kitchen. Lovely big shower & as promised extractor shut off at 10pm & didn't start until 7 to... More

Stayed here September our second visit to this hotel. The location is absolutely brilliant right overlooking the cove. If you stay here you need to have a room with a sea view. The food is excellent but unfortunately we were both ill as the hotel had a Novuvirus bug and most people staying here seem to be suffering with it.... More

I think most of what was said in the bad reviews is correct. Its full of oldies who really love the place and return year after year. It does have a nursing home feel and initially I did think OMG! But the staff were very friendly and helpful and gradually a sort of charm crept thru However we did have... More

We have stayed here several times. An excellent hotel with the kind of attention to detail and excellence of service that is all to rare in today's world. Lovely rooms. Dog friendly. Excellent food. Comfortable lounge. Close to the beach. Hope cove is one of those places where you have to mean to go to. No passing trade as such... More
