A clean, quiet, reasonably priced hotel with a nice courtyard pool right in the heart of the downtown San Jose tourist area. A word to the wise: When I tried to book two weeks in advance for Easter Sunday, the two websites I checked told me that no rooms were available. When I went to the hotel's front desk a... More

The Tropicana Inn is right on the main strip of San Jose del Cabo within walking distance to lots of shops, restaurants and galleries. It's also right by the beautiful main town square where lots of events take place. The rooms are a nice size, with air-conditioning which was really appreciated with the humidity in Baja. Lots of hot water... More

My friends and I enjoyed a delicious lunch in the Tropicana's very pleasant sidewalk restaurant. The staff provided excellent service. Would like to especially thank and commend Manuel Correa, Assistant Manager and Grace, restaurant cashier. Will definitely return to Tropicana when I return to Baja.

From the moment I walked into the front entrance, I instantly fell in love. There's so much beauty and vibrant color that encompasses this place, from the dainty pool to the greenery all around. The room was the perfect size for my boyfriend and I. It comes with a/c, bathroom essentials, bottled water, and coffee. The hotel is right in... More

The property is lush with perfect landscaping, beautiful flowering plants and a lovely variety of palms. This section of San Juan (old San Juan) is our preference because you can walk everywhere and the local are always helpful, retail shops are not pushy and the streets are safe and clean. In addition to the wonderful property grounds (complete with numerous... More

We booked in at the Tropicana Inn overnight because of Airline bookings. We stayed in a small 100 year old cottage located beside the pool. It had a small dimly lit living room with A/C, tastefully decorated with antiques of an era gone by. The bathroom had a sunken bathtub and shower, including all the necessities, a small refrigerator was located... More

Okay, we did not stay in this hotel but rather stopped in to have breakfast along their outdoor location, underneath the shade of their well sized area. Our server was very nice, and spoke english quite well. We had delicious Chilaquiles (one of the best I've had), and also a very good Huevos Rancheros. I was pleasantly surprised at how... More

If you're into the all-inclusive resort scene, El Tropicana is probably not for you. It's not on the beach, but is a delightful and reasonable find located in the central historical district near many nice art galleries, shops, and restaurants. There is a busy on-site restaurant with options to people watch from the street side cafe or dine indoors surrounded... More

For the price this place is very nice.. This is not an inclusive experience (which is fine)... Beautiful grounds, wonderful restaurant, local pets, helpful and courteous staff... Negatives... Lacks privacy (major window is on major pass through), and integrated services such as spa/massage and the restaurant seem resistant (or cannot) bill your room. So, just be aware... Otherwise very charming... More

We didn't stay at the hotel, although it is beautiful, very classic, reminiscent of the good old days. The mexican dishes were delicious, but we went for the Rib Eye! Five Stars! And as a music lovers, my wife and I, we enjoyed very much the jazz Trio, a pianist from New York, Marcia I think was her name, amazing... More
