I really do not want to knock this hotel down that much, it is not the worst out there but they really nickel & dime you there. Like one of the other guests wrote about his trip, it is true that once the owner retired & the sons took over, they made some changes & all of the changes are... more

This is a one-start hotel charging 5 star prices. The beds are rock-hard and tiny (all singles and twins), sewer gas came up through the drain in our bathroom the whole time, hot tub was cold, pool was even colder, food is mediocre at best when you can get it, TV had no satellite signal, fountains all broken, no netting... more

Fishing was awsome. I have been to the East Cape when it was slow and wide open. This boat crew worked hard. The condo rooms are really comfortable. The food was very good. The drinks were great. Did anyone get the license plate of that Cadillac. Wow. Went down with 7 friends and everyone had fun. The grounds were beautiful... more

I just finished my fifth trip to the Van Wormer resorts with four of them at Palmas de Cortez and I will never go back again. Every year it is the same thing. They had us on the dock at 6:45 am for our first day fishing and we did not get our boat until after 9:30 am. They kept... more

3 stars seems about right...could have been better could have been worse...like, right next door where we were originally booked. you definitely don't want to stay at the playa del sol unless you like a VERY basic room, a dirty pool and generally rundown facilities...so back to las palmas, there's a great pool including the swim up bar, overlooking the... more

My husband and I were on a "road trip" through southern Baja. We saw Hotel palmas de cortez on the internet and decided to try it. The setting is absolutely gorgeous. With the fishing boats dotting the ocean, the gorgeous blue green of the water, the pool, the gardens. Wonderful. The rooms are big and so is the bathroom. Very... more

Just returned from Baja; four tired but well-satisfied fishermen who enjoyed the hospitality and great customer service of the Hotel Palmas de Cortez, in Los Barriles, Baja. This "growing" little town is a fisherman's haven, but Palmas is a great resort for the entire family! I booked a 5-night stay, with 3 days of fishing in their cabana rooms, directly... more

Awesome fishing, great pool and rooms, food was good. Small town feel with big town acomadations at the resort. Theirs even a little golf after fishing if you like. We had a blast and will go back soon. more

Our family stayed there to fish. Here are pros and cons. Pros: Great location, right on the beach. Also - we stayed in a 2 bedroom condo so it was great since there were 6 adults and 1 child. Great pool. Cons: Food wasn't that great and I caught a stomach bug the last day. I'd recommend not drinking the... more

I have been staying here for a number of years and have seen many of the changes, most for the best. Recently, they hired a real chef. Food is outstanding, about time. Being charged 30 bucks a day for food was a bit tough to take basing it on what we were being served. Hats off to the new man... more
