Just off the beaten track and away from the madding crowds is a wonderful free house sitting in the heart of this Cotswold village but with ample parking and an incredibly warm welcome from the owners. I'd stay here anytime of year but the winter promises a magnificent log fire burning and sitting in the wing back chairs listening to... More

We found this pub after leaving Stow on the Wold as we could not find anywhere to park! It is in a pleasant setting and we had delicious sandwiches. The service was good and it was a shame that we were only passing through and could not stop for a proper meal.

We've visited this pub a number of times and have in the past always found the staff to be friendly and the food to be good. This occasion was a Sunday lunchtime in the spring and we were only looking for a light lunch as we were going out for dinner in the evening. If they didnt want to be... More

One of the very best places to eat in the Cotswolds. Simon and Sally are so welcoming and the food is just amazing. Have visited many times as a couple and with all of our family. Every time it's been perfect. Thoroughly recommend.

Sunday lunch was booked for a family event. The menu was not particularly interesting but prices were well above average and not, in my experience, merited by the food itself. Whitebait starter at £7.00 was small. Vegetables accompanying the roast were unimaginative, though meat was more generous. The sweets were praised. Service was slow and uncoordinated. I don't understand the... More

Charming, secluded, great food, attentive and interested service without being intrusive. Stayed two nights with family and the experience was one of the best (and I stayed in hotels around the world on 261 nights in the last year).

Simon the Landlord really made my stay great. Lovely room with character and a bathroom in the loft. Lovely breakfast. The village provided a great location in a wonderful part of the world. Highly recommended.

The pub itself is lovely, the village is pretty and the owners were very pleasant. The room was quirky with a private bathroom in a loft room. I feel the room was over priced (125) as I have stayed in better rooms in the Cotswolds for 80 per night. The bathroom window wont shut but as the room stunk of... More

The ambiance, level of service, and quality of food were as good as I have had in England. The staff were very friendly and the attention to detail of our entire experience was terrific. We enjoyed the asparagus risotto, the fresh trout and the best fish and chips we have had on our trip through England.
