The ambiance, level of service, and quality of food were as good as I have had in England. The staff were very friendly and the attention to detail of our entire experience was terrific. We enjoyed the asparagus risotto, the fresh trout and the best fish and chips we have had on our trip through England.

My niece and I stayed here on Saturday night and thought it was fantastic. The owners were charming, very comfortable room, lovely food and great menu, gorgeous village, very good value and topped by a superb breakfast!!! It is a great find and we will be back.

Pleasant surprise in a sleepy village. Loved that Simon (owner) made time to chat to all his patrons regulars or not. Great selection of local beers and spirits. Enjoyed a perfectly cooked rare steak and a hard too top beef ale pie. Room good, with a comfy bed. I have only one suggestion ... dry sherry and horseradish in the... More

We enjoyed our meals and our drinks at the pub! The food was delicious and fresh, and the staff felt like friends at the end if our stay. We loved the whole area and would recommend going for a relaxing holiday. We loved the church nearby, saint Nicholas's.

We spent the week of Xmas in a nearby cottage, and immediately made the Horse and Groom our local. Simon the landlord made us welcome every time we stepped through the doors. We ate as a family in the restaurant and found the menu attractive and the food excellent. The ales on tap are enticing and Simon is passionate about... More

Having stayed for two nights in 2013 we thought we would stay once again on our homeward trip from Cornwall, NOTHING has changed, the welcome was just as warm, the room just as warm and cosy, the bar area snug with chairs to sink into and read the paper by the huge log fire whilst enjoying the beer of the... Visited here 6 weeks ago as a recce for future clients. Booked for an evening meal, kept waiting for at least half an hour, with no apology or explanation. Our extra special (expensive) steak was 25% fat, which the landlord seemed to think amusing. Landlady was unfriendly with no welcome. Sold us an overpriced bottle of wine as they only... More

We were passing at 2.40pm on a Saturday afternoon, we called in to check it out for a future stay by a relative. The premises are in a splendid location, they looked welcoming. The Special Board displayed in the garden looked very inviting. After parking we were met by the owner at the door, he informed us that they were closing... More

I cannot find enough words to praise the Horse & Groom!! This is the second time we stayed there with American visitors who absolutely adored it. Sally & Simon are amazing hosts, Simon has a wonderful sense of humour and they just cannot do enough for you. The food was wonderful (we ate there both nights), and we just love... More

It was our first experience in the Cotswolds and were traveling with our English friends. They had been to the Horse and Groom before and highly recommended it. We were not disappointed as the service and the food were quite good. So good in fact that we dined there both nights. Our room was fairly small and quaint but offered... More
